A man threatened conservative influencer Benny Johnson as
part of an 'Antifa' plot to emulate Charlie Kirk's
assassination, Pam Bondi said at a fiery press conference
Friday.
The Attorney General announced charges against a suspect
named as George Isbell Jr. as part of a White House crackdown
on political violence.
Isbell will be prosecuted in connection to threatening
communications mailed to Johnson and his wife Kate, which
talked about wanting to orphan their children and strangling
Johnson 'with an American flag'.
Johnson commands a following of over four million on X and
is one of the most outspoken conservative commentators on
social media known for rubbing shoulders with Donald Trump
and other influential MAGA stars.
Bondi said the alleged threats against him were part of an
'Antifa' plot to 'wreak havoc on the streets of our cities',
and linked the threats to the shooting of Kirk which took
place a month ago.
'This arrest will serve as a reminder, we will find you,'
Bondi said, also referencing recent attacks on an ICE
facility in Dallas and an anti-Semitic attack on Pennsylvania
Governor Josh Shapiro's home in April.
Bondi said Johnson faced, 'similar threats' to Kirk's
assassination because of his conservative stances, saying
the suspect mailed a letter to the conservative influencer
that 'made it clear he hated him because of his views and
wanted him dead.'
. . .
Fortunately they never look on poor old usenet - half
the posters would be arrested for death threats against
Trump and MAGA people :-)
No, "ANTIFA" is not an 'official organization',
it is a bunch of little orgs and people operating
from a fairly similar set of ideas/ideologies,
usually prompted and guided by a relatively few
master agitators.
Political violence is one of those ideas. In
any case, "ANTIFA" is now an umbrella term,
kind of like "communists" ... hey, Bolsheviks,
Mensheviks, Maoists and such. Hmm ... "Christians",
how many unique demominations ? "Moslem" ? At
least four main groups.
It's too bad we have to go to arresting 'agitators'
now, but the agitations are crossing over from a
mere set of opinions to active promotion of violence,
anarchy and and assassinations. Can't have that.
The Kirk incident, constant west coast anarchy,
the attempts on Trump - they all show how super
rad ideas can KILL these days. "Civilized
disagreement" has faded away.
And yes, there ARE at least a few 'right wing'
and 'theocratic' quasi-revolutionary groups. If
they go too far then then those ringleaders need
to be arrested as well. Fair is fair - 'militant
extremism' is the enemy of democratic states.
