The Internal Revenue Service furloughed nearly half of its
workforce on Wednesday as part of the ongoing government
shutdown.
Around 40,000 employees will remain working, but the
majority of operations are closed.
. . .
We'd kind of hoped the IRS would be completely
gone by now, replaced by some vastly easier
revenue scheme.
But don't count on it. SO many coveted special
tax breaks for "important" people/businesses ...
many do not want it to go away.
