There are reasons to expect escalations with both
Russia and China. A WokieWimp mil is NOT suited
for dealing with it (which may have been the whole

The generals ... well ... it IS hard to keep the
inches off once you get older. Look at Trump
himself - as CinC he too should get all buff.

Also, expertise does not diminish if the waistline
gets larger and we NEED expertise/experience.
Some sane compromises will need to accompany the
new orders here.

Now bad old days - generals and even kings would
lead the charge. Alas armies and wars were kind
of small back then so not sure how many lessons
we can draw from that era.

True. I can think of someone who frequently does this so that people
satisfied by surface level stuff can feel good without questioning
whether something will really work or be ethical. As long as it hurts
people they hate a bit more than it hurts themselves, it's a go.
