If you've ever driven between Houston and Dallas on Interstate 45, you've
seen his 67-foot sculpture of Sam Houston: https://s.hdnux.com/photos/46/43/16/10105732/3/1200x0.jpg

Less seen is his sculpture of Stephen F. Austin on Highway 288 at
    Angleton: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/6e/16/1e/6e161e4535502fcf6e17439d10cfd857.jpg

I had read once that he intended to make four more gigantic sculptures of
other Texas icons and place them in various towns throughout the state.
The statue of William B. Travis was going to be placed in Gonzales. I
    suppose he changed his plans.

Several of Adickes' other works have been placed around Houston, where he lived. I once walked through his outdoor studio, where he had a collection
of gigantic sculpted heads of every U.S. president from Washington through Dubya Bush.

His last name was pronounced ADD-icks.
