A European zoo stirred up intrigue and controversy after a social
media post asking for surplus pets to be donated to feed captive
animals went viral.
In a post on Facebook, the Aalborg Zoo in Denmark asked people to
donate unwanted pets that would be "gently euthanized" and fed to
predators in captivity.
"Chickens, rabbits and guinea pigs form an important part of the diet
of our predators rCo especially the European lynx, which needs whole
prey that resembles what it would naturally hunt in the wild," the zoo
wrote.
"In zoos we have a responsibility to imitate the natural food chain of
the animals - in terms of both animal welfare and professional
integrity," the post continued. "That way, nothing goes to waste - and
we ensure natural behavior, nutrition and well-being of our
predators."
The zoo also accepts horses as part of its fodder program.

Lets see, versus euthanizing all the strays in the shelter?
I wonder if the zoo realizes just how cruel being mauled to
death is?-a Human hunter are rather humane.
Don't guess they kill them first.-a-a I wonder if
visitors will be able to watch little tabby being fed
to big tabby.

Why not read about it from the link and find out facts? Certainly no
worse than taking your pet to the vet for the same or worse.

And that's exactly what Judith posted. I guess T speed-reads and
misses the detail.

it's right there in front of you.
To describe NPR as Pravda is just plain nonsense.

The problem is that MAGA/Libral are simply the opposite sides of the same disinformation campaigns.
I feel for people who Believe in one side or the other.

I read Pravda, not the facebook post:
https://www.npr.org/2025/08/06/nx-s1-5493363/denmark-zoo-donate-pets-feeding-animals
And NPR is Propaganda.-a Pravda is accurate:

They want to be part of something.
For some people that is what gives meaning to their lives. Being in the
herd is warm and comfortable. And avoids the effort of actually thinking...
