2A made some sense in 1791 In recent years, it has cost many lives,
including Kirk.
The only difference between then and now is that back then gun owners knew how to handle fully automatic and semi automatic military style firearms, so they wrote the 2a and didn't worry about mass shootings in schools, workplaces, shopping malls, festivals, parties, barbecues, sports events and even at the shooting range.
Now-a-days it ain't so. Kids today don't know how to handle their guns.

If I'm not mistaken, they used them at Interstate road blocks as well.
