    Do it, there's no formal 'challenge' but your own.

    In my case, I 'survived' a web with GNU Emacs in an Atom netbook as my
    only computing environment except for the window manager. IRC,
    Usenet, music playing and even epub reading over Emacs. And gaming
    (ZMachine text adventures, Sokoban, some Tetris and a few more).

    On that baud rate, except for a brief 56K (actually lower) connection
    I've tried at the early high school times, the lowest connection
    I tried to do my stuff was 2G (between modem/ISDN speeds) with Mosh,
    which is a light bandwidth using and seamless reconnecting SSH.
    Forget proper SSH without
    latency, the web was near impossible without Links being run in a
    *remote* Unix machine, even light sites.
    Over Mosh it flied, I found no difference.
    Usenet (locally) did it fine with a bit of patience,
    as I use slrnpull to download a spool. Gopher and IRC were
    almost the same as broadband minus some big places
    with tons of comments (I used to read Reddit over
    gopher://gopherddit.com, now it doesn't work).

    gopher://magical.fish might work well on an Atari 400. It might
    needs tons of word-wrapping, or maybe you can find some terminal
    software to set a 80x24/25 screen...

    Hm, not sure about the 400, but there's an early version of Ice-T that will run on the 800. FlickerTerm80 might also run on those. Kermit65 also does 80 columns. There might be another decent one that I'm forgetting, but there are also some bad ones.

    On the C=, there is StrikeTerm2014 (a continuation of Novaterm).

    I use the old computers for modern use quite often. It's only when I have to go meet some people on Zoom or do online banking that I have to switch to a modern system ;). Was doing it before this OCC came about.

    FlickerTerm runs very well on a stock 800. I have an incognito board in my 800,
    so the latest releast of ICE-T also runs.

    The early builds of ICE-T for the 800 were...not great.
