  • Windows 25H2 is almost here

    From Jack@Jack@invalid.invalid to alt.comp.os.windows-11 on Mon Sep 29 22:29:34 2025
    From Newsgroup: alt.comp.os.windows-11

It appears that the initial stable release of Windows 11 version 25H2 is imminent: You can now download the full ISO for this release or the
enablement package (eKB) that will upgrade Windows 11 version 24H2 to
    25H2 much more quickly.

You can have it NOW and if you are on 24H2 fully updated then you only
need a very small download called eKB. All the links are here:

    <https://www.thurrott.com/windows/windows-11/327060/windows-11-version-25h2-isos-and-ekbs-are-available>

Microsoft official download page will-a be updated today, 30th September,
    2025 according to some sources

    There's no rush.

Let the bugs test the early users.

Windows Update will tell me when I should get it, forcing it the first
day is kind of pointless with an annual upgrade, in 2021 I wanted to get
11 immediately to check it out, but it was genuinely new then, 25H2
should be pretty minor in reality.

I looked at it last week, 7GB ISO, it would install but warned it wipes
all installed apps and settings, so I didn't bother installing.

I reconsidered, since it was such a simple thing I went ahead and got
the enablement package, haven't really noticed anything different about
    it though.

Did you run Setup.exe from the mounted ISO (Upgrade install)
or are you booting the ISO content and doing a Clean install ?

Ah, I've just read the footnote
    presumably it's an en-GB vs. en-US issue.

I was going to answer with a "different stream?" response.
    I guess that's a close-enough kind of issue.

You'll have better experience by downloading the correct ISO. UK users
need Multi Edition ISO and the selecting English International. <https://software.download.prss.microsoft.com/dbazure/Win11_25H2_EnglishInternational_x64.iso?t=f7ee316f-4a70-481d-b7aa-c83be7ad3a6b&P1=1759356673&P2=601&P3=2&P4=mI8HDtiv%2f64Y58AAvNoj0OFTVZNDVU956hCIg85mww2fkPWRx6pOuZvzFAp%2f2m7083iwV6U%2fhMcNAgIqyvGLtAWceZ1jemCG1YM1IAHEFnPGKIi0NFxwJTfuLvPqVLYM8OugE8KbhkPSzYr6kWPpVmQecUC6%2ff27N3EdOLuG8YdPxfrASYaRFLKYHBl%2bSUiGTyvdrw1dbr5qoQNTler%2fEZ9KHNAeM7T8n6mYfSSufUFUAJxB4RcO4%2f5QxOFDSP2JUTVTeR8EcmJQCdXEnno043QXiq2VW9sNIlhD%2fPT%2f4cN01lXZz%2bV2iGacSlZnusAFKnLgyW4ys%2fSTKKwwogG3BQ%3d%3d>

Are you sure you did not originally have an en-us (or other) version to
which you added an additional language? When I installed 24H2 I used Win11_24H2_EnglishInternational_x64.iso (5.43GB).
