We're out boondocking in a trailer in the Alabama Hills,
here near Lone Pine, CA for the Lone Pine Film Festival.
Dad and his wife, as well as my sister and her beu, are here.
We have "guerilla networking", which we only got working last night.
It's the ultimate in "glamping" -- we had a company (family company)
drop off a trailer for our use, which they set up and provided
us with a generator.
This trailer is the trailer of our
forefathers, though -- the electrical stinks. Thankfully,
the plumbing doesn't stink!
No inverter, so we have to either run the generator
to have 110VAC, or use the "Jackery", a "solar generator"
that we keep on hand. (It's a big lithium battery, sold
with solar panels, but can also charge on 12VDC or 110VAC.)
And you know you're "glamping" if you have A/C, which
we do for the hot parts of the day. The trailer doesn't
seem to be insulated very well, so it heats up quite a bit
here in the desert.
Scenery is spectacular here in the Eastern Sierras. If I crick
my neck just right from where I'm sitting, I can see Mt. Whitney.
