so there's the thing in the theory of computing where the halting
paradox prevents us from having a general decider on the matter...
    called the halting problem.

i'm tryin to fix that really, by building a general theory of
meta-computing that can allow us to /effectively compute/ around
problems specifically like the halting paradox, bringing the problem of computing the semantics of a program into the realm of both theoretical analysis and real world computability, and agreement on the matter.

like instead of testing a programming i want to be able to write
descriptive proofs on the matter of what my code does, not just test
    cases ...
    --
a burnt out swe investigating into why our tooling doesn't involve
basic semantic proofs like halting analysis

    please excuse my pseudo-pyscript,

The kitchen table scenario is not a situation where people are
comfortable being quiet until they actually have something to say, are comfortable saying exactly what they think if they are capable of that
and know exactly what they think, are free to ignore somebody if they
    feel like it.

Kitchen tables do not foster genuine interaction, unless a few (not
many) would have done that anyway.

It almost takes intimacy for two people to feel comfortable being
silent with each other for a very long period of time, irl, if they
    are capable of that.

It's not important what news reader you're using.

What's important is the text editor you use for creating the text
message. For more professional results, you should consider a good text
editor like Edit Pad. That way, your messages will be more effective and useful.

No serious Usenet informant keys directly into a news reader app on
    their smart phone!

True. I have the latest version of an old time newsreader which could
    do emoji's if I wanted, but I don't want. Emoji's are like
exclamation points. Writers don't use them. You can put all the

You must be new around here.

Every message I've posted on Usenet is on my computer where I composed
it using Edit Pad. No serious news informant uses an iPhone app to

This is supposed to be an informative discussion, not an idle chit chat >about yoga poses or Buddhas.

    Good work!

Keep in mind, this isn't a conversation with normal people, Nick.

Imagine sitting around a kitchen table with strangers, and one guy says >>>>> nothing for days after once piping up with a rumor.a One guy totally >>>>> ignores you, like you weren't even there. Another guy shouts
    obscenities
at you from across the room.a This is when you realize you're not
sitting at a kitchen table, you're at a carnival and these are your
    barkers.

yeah yeah yeah post truthers always act like they're special ???

the *real* truth is the whole world's a damn carnival act hidden under >>>> layers of wildly unsustainable contrivialities no good for us anyways

Except those of us who are comfortable sitting quietly with each other
    for extended periods of time.

k, how bout you sit there quietly for an extended period of time eh?

    The Mission Impossible theme plays.

Dripping with sarcasm. Careful you might get some on yourself.

Don't get political with me young man
or I'll tie you to a railroad track and
