Federal law, like it or not, is real. And the feds have the legal
authority to enforce those laws.

So don't ask me to justify their actions. The courts can figure it out,
if they're good for anything.

The Trump admin says local governments are enabling law breakers by
allowing rioters to break local laws. And they are giving encouragement
to those rioters. It's reached the point where the function of federal
agents is significantly degraded.

And those riots are also infringing on the civil rights of local people
by preventing them from going about their legally protected day to day activities.

There are not enough federal agents to protect all of the ICE
facilities. So the National Guard need to be deployed to do the protection.

Again, so says the Trump admin.

States are responsible for their own law enforcement. If they need
help they can ask for it, but it cannot legally be imposed by the
feds. The mayor of memphis did ask, as he well might, since the
numbers you provided say memphis is one of those much worse off than
portland.

The interesting thing for me is himbo's choice of targets, none of
which are among the really high on your list. Portland is # 5 for
property crime, it is true, but others are much worse. None of which
have been targeted. It looks like he is interested in only making d
governors and mayors look bad. He doesn't invade r cities and
governors because this is not really about crime, it as usual is
about optics, to borrow your word.

But when memphis asks, sure he needs to help.

invaded.

There was no rioting in portand until the feds arrived. It begins to
look like himbo intended to provoke rioting so he can accuse d govts
of all that stuff you say, to discredit them, and ultimately to
replace them.
