Hotel/motel jobs. Wages have not increased in such jobs since it was possible to get a $6 room in Motel 6, unless forced by minimum wage
laws. Yet, room rates have increased astronomically. There really is
no reason for it but greed.

How about this, himbo? Hospitality industries pay a living wage, and
room rates stay the same, so occupancy does not fall, and these crummy
jobs can attract american workers? How about that? Any takers?

Cause, really, you cannot have it both ways.

I actually have seen places where management did not want to replace
pens that guests walked off with. Employees should Bring their own or
    rescue the boss's pens.

What did you expect at a place down on Skid Row?

The statewide minimum wage in California is $16.50 per hour as of
January 1, 2025, for all employers.

It all depends on location for earning a living wage. I knew a guy from
India who owned a small motel. He employed his whole family. This year
on our road trip we stayed exclusively at Hampton Inn because it's dog friendly and because they have free breakfast.

Apparently, the average hourly pay for hotel and motel workers in Santa
Rosa varies depending on the specific job, location, and experience
level, but generally ranges from $16 to $29 per hour. Entry-level
positions like front desk agents can start around $12 per hour, while
more experienced roles like hotel managers can earn up to $29 or more
    per hour.

All of the illegal border jumpers should have to leave. They showed no
concern for the people of the US by sneaking into the country. So they
    gotta go.

If we actually do have a real labor shortage (not just a desire to under
pay the workforce) we should have a decent work visa program to fill
those jobs. Not serfs working for wages normal people won't accept. And
they should have to leave the US to apply for the visa in their home

The gangbangers and the criminals who were exported into the US by their
home countries under Biden's dystopic immigration scheme should not get anything but the boot.

Hotel/motel jobs. Wages have not increased in such jobs since it was
possible to get a $6 room in Motel 6, unless forced by minimum wage

What did you expect at a place down on Skid Row?

The statewide minimum wage in California is $16.50 per hour as of
January 1, 2025, for all employers.

You think you can pay rent and eat in calif on that?

Apparently, in Ontario, the living wage in the Greater Toronto Area was
    $26.00 per hour in 2024.
Regardless, your guy from india is not representative of anything.

You idiot! Don't you look up anything? According to industry reports, Indian-origin hoteliers own over 36,000 hotels across the U.S., a
majority 60% share of all U.S. hotels.
It all depends on location for earning a living wage. I knew a guy from
India who owned a small motel. He employed his whole family. This year
on our road trip we stayed exclusively at Hampton Inn because it's dog
friendly and because they have free breakfast.

Apparently, the average hourly pay for hotel and motel workers in Santa
Rosa varies depending on the specific job, location, and experience
level, but generally ranges from $16 to $29 per hour. Entry-level
positions like front desk agents can start around $12 per hour, while
more experienced roles like hotel managers can earn up to $29 or more
    per hour.

People who think minimum wage should support a person renting an
apartment on their own. Out of touch with reality!

Apparently, things are not so good in Canada. There are 450,000 to
900,000 Canadians who are functionally homeless meaning they are not in shelters or on the streets but lack stable housing.

Living in Canada is for wealthy people! It's not for me because I don't
like cold weather and paying sky high income taxes. There is an acute
    housing shortage in Canada.

Canada's overall tax burden (taxes as a percentage of GDP) in 2023 was

Good shot. That is exactly what it is. Now that we understand each
other which will it be, pay a living wage or use immigrants for those
    crummy jobs nobody wants?

we should have a decent work visa program to fill
those jobs. Not serfs working for wages normal people won't accept. And >>>>> they should have to leave the US to apply for the visa in their home >>>>> country.

If they are getting decent wages, there would be no need for the work
    visas.

The gangbangers and the criminals who were exported into the US by their >>>>> home countries under Biden's dystopic immigration scheme should not get >>>>> anything but the boot.

But first the booters should have to prove who is a gangbanger (other
than local teenagere) and criminals and who isn't. The cops never
decide if you are guilty and slap you in jail or send you to another
country. Except lately that seems to be happening. Dire times are at >>>> hand.

Anyone who snuck across the border is an illegal immigrant. As such they >>> should be deported.

So you agree that farmers should pay wages decent enough to attract
    americans?

    Yes, as should all employers.

And the only way to determine what "decent wages" are is an open market
not corrupted by government meddling and the importation of millions of >illegal immigrant serfs.

Right, that is what we had in 1910 when factory workers got 50 cents a
day like in the 3rd world. After much labor unrest, including hanging
of labor organizers, things got better and workers were doing pretty
good in the fifties. Of course, business owners would find a way to
    undo that wouldn't they?

Not rapists and criminals. And not welfare junkies. No, that is

You really don't look up anything do you?

Apparently, ICE Data: In fiscal year 2023, ICE conducted 91,497 at-large >>> arrests, a 7.2% increase from FY 2022. In a group of 73,822 individuals
with criminal histories, there were 290,708 charges and convictions, an

And you believe every word of this himbo affirming surgery.

Obviously, it's a conspiracy between Trump and ICE to post false data on >Wiki. Right?

No they simply put it out there, and since anybody can write on wiki,
content providers will pick it up and use it. As if it were true. The difference is that, on wiki, sources are explicitly provided and not
hidden as elsewhere. So it is still possible to use wiki with some
    caveats.
