Could teach you anything significant about anyplace.

Oh, dear, the ny times is running infomercials. For what did I pay
    $90?

"36 Hours in Portland, Ore.: Scale an extinct volcano, visit the
cityAs largest farmersA market and enjoy elevated Haitian cuisine."

Actually climbing mt hood ain't fer sissies. And neither is it
extinct. Poured volcanic ash all over portland, it did. And don't
start your car until the ash is well settled and blown away. That
stuff will eat up your engine.

Elevated hatian cuisine. Me, I liked the oyster house. And since
when is himbo allowing haitians to start restaurants? Back to haiti
    with you, or someplace.

Apparently, there are several Haitian restaurants in New York City, with
the largest concentration to be found in the Flat Bush area of Brooklyn.

So, I should go there! They love fried food with food stands offering
dishes like fried plantains and conch fritters and fried chicken.

The NY Times has always been a 2nd propaganda rag with better than average quality writers.
