Back On The Radar
Jeffrey Epstein, Harvey Weinstein, Ron Burkle, Donald Trump, Jeff Bezos
and Lauren Sanchez, nostalgia about the Conde Nast golden era under Tina
Brown and Graydon Carter, Brooklyn Beckham's father-in-law. Summer 2025 headlines have done a lot of revolving around these names and stories.
Bizarrely, they all featured heavily back in 2019 in a four-part series
we wrote about the weirdly close links between all the names, and the
media brands that brought them together.
We've recut the story for now - itrCOs a long and detailed one that covers huge swathes of the 21st century so far. HererCOs part 1.
We start off with Harvey Weinstein.
How did Harvey go about getting his gruff, sticky fingers into the print
media pie in the first place? Funny you should ask, because itrCOs a
pretty interesting storyrCa
Jeffrey Epstein gets more than a walk-on part.
What possible reason could a notoriously secretive billionaire with
myriad ties to high society and a rumoured penchant for sex with young
girls have for wanting to own a stake in a celebrity gossip magazine?
Shortly before they both invested in Radar Magazine, Harvey Weinstein
and Jeffrey Epstein teamed up to make a totally different media
acquisition... a story that brings in Ron Burkle, who has just announced
he's taking Soho House private again, plus Nelson Peltz.
And Tina Brown and Graydon Carter? The former stars in this story for
her close links to Weinstein, while the latter's part in his magazine non-publication of testimonies about Epstein is never going to age well.
Donald Trump? Surely there's no pop culture story in 2025 that he hasn't managed to gate crash? This is no exception.
Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez might inadvertently caught up in this
story. But still managed to end up having billionaire-sized influence
over the media property we are going on to discuss here - Radar Online.
But first, let's Talk about Harvey...
