Neither, for $900, I can built a top end ibm computer from parts from
    ebay.

Apparently, the Mac Mini Pro has the clocks. It rocks.

Nothing beats the Mac OS when it comes to multi-media production using industry standards like Logic Pro X (macOS only) and Pro Tools, for live music.

That being said, anyone can get a refurbished Chromebook for $49 through Walmart to check email and watch TikTok videos.

That is the old story. Macs are the best at graphics, etc. I'm not
sure that is still true. In any case, I don't do graphics.

You will imagine that I use my computer for far more than that.

It is true, you could be buying a new computer every month. I refuse
to even think of such a stupidity. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Apparently, we are on the same path!

So, I'm still using my refurbished Lenovo Carbon laptop - works great.

It's the internet connection that is the problem. We used to have Google Gigabyte high speed fiber - now we have a Hughes Net satellite and it
sucks. When we move into the condo I am going to insist on running a T1
    line directly into my studio!

    1.544Mbit/s!!!!!!!!!!!

Actually, back in '92 or '93, that's what we got at our community
college campus to replace the X.25 56K[*] ADN CSUNet connection.
    ftp's were flyin'!

[*] Actually, only half of the connection was used for IP, the other
for X.25 terminals on our HP3000 mainframe.
