wanting a national ID card scheme, in practice they were creating a de

citizens. Our National Insurance number was gradually being attached to
our identity across different Government departments. Some of those,
such as passports and driving licenses, already have biometric data to
link faces to numbers. In a few more years, though we might not have an
ID card, we would have existed as a digitally identifiable individual in >>> a state database.
In that sense, StarmerAs Labour is merely being upfront about rendering
us all transparent to the state via technology. Where the last
Conservative government planned to outsource biometric ID schemes u for

add that to its own scheme.

dangers. For a start, such a comprehensive database is an irresistible
target for hackers. In the week that a chain of nurseries woke to the
nightmare of hackers not only posting the details of children on the
Dark Web, but directly contacting their parents, the potential
consequences of hacking a national ID database should be salient.
Just as importantly, such a system can be used not only to track and
observe individuals but also to intervene in their lives. The Post
Office scandal revealed how fallible technology can devastate the lives
of innocent people, even when introduced with good intentions u by
BlairAs government, incidentally.
A government whose intentions are at odds with its citizensA interests
could not only deny benefits, housing or healthcare to the owrongo
people, but also use their digital identity to otherwise make their
lives difficult. Debanking, travel restrictions, and other exclusions >>>from public life have already been used by other governments to deter
citizens from stepping out of line. However much you trust StarmerAs
ministry not to misuse the powers that accompany a universal digital ID
system, itAs extremely difficult to take back such powers from other,
future governments.
But given that comparable systems were already sliding in by stealth,
perhaps Starmer has done us a favor. By overtly proposing digital ID
cards, he has painted a target, a focus for popular pushback as well as
campaign groups which have long opposed such schemes. Already, a

People are leaving Christianity for two reasons.
1. Religion. Man made rules much like the Pharisees placed on others.
Some call it legalism but ultimately it is making up outward rules that

The Covid pandemic disrupted the overy fabric of childhoodo, the UK
inquiry has heard, on the first day of a four-week session devoted to
its impact on children and young people.
Clair Dobbin KC, counsel to the inquiry, said in her opening submission
on Monday that some of the evidence drawn from the 18,000 stories and
400 targeted interviews would be ohard to listen too.
Some children lost parents, grandparents and other loved ones to Covid.
Some children died from Covid, while others continue to live with the
osevere, and, for many, long-lastingo consequences of the pandemic.
Dobbin described the curtailment of play and the loss of all the normal
rites of passage u birthdays, proms, exams u as well as the damage done
to young peopleAs mental health and their ability to make and sustain
friendships.
She also spoke about children who suffered ogrievouso harm at the hands
of the people who were meant to care for them, when they were told to
stay at home and lost the protection that schools usually offer.
Some young people were exposed to violent pornography and other harms as >>> their lives rapidly moved online, while many struggled to access online
lessons and ended up spending most of the day gaming instead of learning. >>>
One described ositting there with no school, playing [the video game]
Animal Crossing for, like, six monthso. Another said they played Roblox
online for up to 19 hours a day.
Dobbin quoted one child as saying: oPeople would answer the remote
lesson call in bed, people would be in science third lesson, and would
literally have the camera off and would be posting on their Instagram
stories or their Snapchat stories, literally them watching The Only Way
is Essex.o

She said said: o[Covid] deprived children of much of the fun that makes
a childhood: birthday parties, playing sport, proms, school trips,
holidays; all everyday aspects of what it means to be a child but which
comprise the very fabric of childhood.o
The inquiry heard the decision to close schools ohad ramifications which >>> are difficult to overstateo. The Department for Education (DfE) had
undertaken zero contingency planning for school closures before lockdown >>> was declared in March 2020.
oIn England, evidence that the [DfE] did not start planning for the
closure of schools until after 16 March 2020 is a cause for alarm,o
Dobbin told the inquiry.
She said Jonathan Slater, then permanent secretary to the DfE, had
provided evidence that between January and 16 March 2020, the
departmentAs contingency plans were opremised on the assumption that
schools and other educational settings would remain open. And according
to him that was in keeping with the governmentAs overall approach to
pandemic preparedness at the time.o
Evidence from Gavin Williamson, the education secretary at the time,
agreed, but on 17 March there seems to have been a sudden change of
direction. Dobbin said: o[Williamson] explains in his words that thereAs >>> a discombobulating 24-hour sea change from keeping schools open on 16
March, to discussions about closing schools on 17 March.o
On 18 March, schools were ordered to close. Dobbin added: o[Williamson]
did not ask DfE officials to prepare an assessment of the impact of
school closures because school closures had not been recommended and No
10 officials had not commissioned this advice from the DfE either.o

The inquiry was told that the then prime minister Boris Johnson took
issue with WilliamsonAs version of events in his statement to the
inquiry, and said the DfE was aware of the possibility of closing schools. >>>

In her opening comments to the reconvened inquiry the chair, Heather
Hallett, said the pandemicAs impact on children and young people was
osevere and, for many, long-lastingo, as they missed educational
opportunities, social interaction and for the most at-risk they lost
protection from abuse.
An impact film shown at the start of proceedings detailed some of the
childrenAs stories, voiced by adults to protect their identities. One
contributor said her friend had died, another lost 12 kilos while
suffering from Covid, while a third had to be put on a ventilator.
A single parent described the challenge of trying to home educate and
care for three children all at different stages of their education. oIn
the end I just said weAre not doing it,o she said, adding: oBeing
confined, just us in that house, was hell.o
Another mother said her son had been out of school since February 2022.
oOur family life completely stopped. ItAs a huge worry to us how his
life will go. How he will manage to look after himself. We should not
sacrifice children. Children are the future.o
The inquiry continues on Tuesday.

Children should be given a formal apology by the prime minister after
the Covid inquiry ends for the "avoidable mistakes" made by the
government at the time, the former children's commissioner for England
has said.
Adults were prioritised over children throughout the pandemic as pubs,
shops and theme parks opened before schools, Baroness Anne Longfield
told the UK Covid Inquiry.
She also described the run-up to the closure of schools as being "quite
chaotic", adding that "it wasn't clear who had responsibility for
planning for children".
The inquiry is due to hear evidence from those who were in government at >>> the time, while the current government has said lessons have already
been learned.
This part of the inquiry is looking at the impact of the pandemic on
children and young people, and whether they were considered in key
decisions made by government.
Schools were closed in March 2020 and again in January 2021.
Baroness Longfield said whoever is prime minister at the time of the
inquiry's final report should say sorry to children because of the
damage done to their education and wellbeing at the time of the pandemic. >>>
Giving evidence to the inquiry on Thursday, she described an "impasse"
over the issue of schools reopening during Covid.
She told the inquiry the Department for Education (DfE) had said they
weren't allowed to reopen schools because Public Health England (PHE)
wouldn't let them.
The inquiry heard she had then spoken to the chief executive of PHE, who >>> was "aghast" that this might be the case and described a set of
guidelines which provided a framework for schools reopening.
"I ended up with a brokerage role to bring [DfE and PHE] together," she
said.
"I think it's very clear that throughout the process, mistakes were
made, children were overlooked and there were mistakes and decisions
that went against children's best interests."

In the coming weeks, the inquiry is due to hear about the difference in
opinion between the former education secretary Gavin Williamson and
Boris Johnson about the closing of schools in January 2021.
Baroness Longfield said the 2021 closure would have been avoidable with
better planning, but says the government did not use the time over the
previous summer to prepare for a future lockdown.
On Monday, Galina Ward KC, for the DfE, said there was "a really
difficult balance to be struck between trying to keep [schools] open at
all costs, or having targeted early closures to avoid longer ones later, >>> but then potentially closing schools at a time when it may become
apparent with hindsight that it wasn't in fact necessary".
"There simply are no easy answers and we look forward to all of the
complexities being fully ventilated in this module," she said.
Although vulnerable children were allowed to attend schools in the first >>> lockdown, only 5% attended in the first few weeks, the inquiry was told. >>>
Baroness Longfield said the "stay at home" message from government
seemed to show that ministers hadn't understood the complexity of life
for a lot of children and families, with the message being that it was
"unsafe to leave your house".
"It meant that those families with vulnerable children who might have
attended wondered why their children might take the risk to attend
school when everyone else wouldn't," she said.
The policy was a good decision and well-intentioned, she told the
inquiry, but because of how it was communicated, it was almost seen as a >>> punishment, rather than an offer from government to help families.
Also on Thursday, the inquiry heard there had been a "systemic shock" to >>> children's mental health during the pandemic, according to Tamsin
Newlove-Delgado, an expert in children and young people's mental health. >>>
Research showed the number of children and young people with mental
health conditions had increased from one in nine in 2017, to one in six
in 2020, the inquiry heard.
The "sharp jump" has remained at an elevated level over recent years,
Professor Newlove-Delgado said.
She said there had also been a rise in eating disorders, which could be
partly explained as an attempt to exert control or because of the
increased time spent online.

called for a violent uprising during the pandemic, a court has heard.
Paul Martin, 60, is on trial at the Old Bailey charged with encouraging
terrorism on a Telegram group called The Resistance UK, and having
weapons "for the purposes of terrorism".
Over 16,000 posts, Mr Martin allegedly called for the use of explosives, >>> serious violence and disruption to influence the government or
intimidate the public.
Mr Martin, from Croydon, has admitted having a stun gun and denied all
other charges.
Prosecuting, Julia Faure-Walker said during the Covid pandemic Mr Martin >>> had been a "particularly active" member of a messaging group called The
Resistance UK.
Ms Faure-Walker said Mr Martin compared people protesting against the
lockdown restrictions to the French Resistance of World War Two.
She said the group had about 8,000 members, and Mr Martin had posted
about 16,000 messages u around 4% of all posted on the forum.
She alleged that "rather than restricting himself to lawful protest",
the defendant had "repeatedly referred to serious violence, criminal
damage and disruption of electrical communication systems".

Mr Martin to the group under his username Perpetual Truth.
One post read: "The simple fact is there is no pandemic, never has been. >>> The main goal is to genocide all they can and enslave the survivors.
"That's been their plan for decadesa these world governments are out of
control."
'Smash skulls and destroy evil'
Ms Faure-Walker said Mr Martin had believed that the 5G mobile phone
system and the Covid vaccine were part of a global conspiracy, posting
his belief that the vaccine was a poison that would be triggered by 5G.
The jury was told Mr Martin urged fellow members of the group to obtain
weapons and form militias, targeting council offices and police stations. >>>
In reaction to one lockdown announcement, he allegedly posted: "It's
pure evil. And we'd better get ready to smash skulls and destroy evil."

secret (Philippians 4:12). Though masking is less protective, it helps
us avoid the appearance of doing the evil of spreading airborne
pathogens while there are people getting sick because of not being
100% protected. It is written that we're to "abstain from **all**
appearance of doing evil" (1 Thessalonians 5:22 w/**emphasis**).
Meanwhile, the only *perfect* (Matt 5:47-8 ) way to eradicate the
COVID-19 virus, thereby saving lives, in the UK & elsewhere is by
rapidly (i.e. use the "Rapid COVID-19 Test" ) finding out at any given
moment, including even while on-line, who among us are unwittingly
contagious (i.e pre-symptomatic or asymptomatic) in order to
"convince it forward" (John 15:12) for them to call their doctor and
self-quarantine per their doctor in hopes of stopping this pandemic.
Thus, we're hoping for the best while preparing for the worse-case
scenario of the Alpha lineage mutations and others like the Omicron,
Gamma, Beta, Epsilon, Iota, Lambda, Mu & Delta lineage mutations
combining via slip-RNA-replication to form hybrids like "Deltamicron"
that may render current COVID vaccines/monoclonals/medicines/pills no
longer effective.
