    John 1:1 supplement

(John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was a god. (NWT)

    -- King James
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.

    "In the beginning"

Jesus had a beginning. (John 1:1; Col 1:15) Also:

    -- New King James
Proverbs 8:30 Then I was beside Him, as a master craftsman; and I was
daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him,

But let's ASSUME for the moment that John 1:1 in the KJV is true. Then
it contradicts MANY other Scriptures: Besides the one listed below:

"I was beside Him". He wasn't beside himself. Two persons there.
    Contradiction #1.

    Also

    -- King James
Proverbs 8:22 The Lord possessed me in the beginning of his way,
    before his works of old.

The beginning of His works of old, was the Word. Contradiction #2.
But God always was: It is Jesus who had a beginning.

    -- King James
Psalms 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or ever thou
hadst formed the earth and the world, even from everlasting to
    everlasting, thou art God.

Jesus died and was resurrected. God never died and has been alive from "everlasting to everlasting." Contradiction
    #3

Did the NWT add the indefinte pronoun "a" for clarity? Yes:

(John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was a god. (NWT)

At John 1:1 did the KJV also add any words not in the original? YES.

They added "the": "In THE beginning"
There is no "the" in the original Greek. The original actually starts
    out:

"in beginning". Not "in THE beginning".

Also, every other translation I have seen, adds the word "the" there,
which is not in the original.

    -- New King James
Luke 18:19 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one
is good but One, that is, God. Contradiction #4

    -- American Standard
Matthew 24:36 But of that day and hour knoweth no one, not even the
angels of heaven, neither the Son, but the Father only. Contradiction
    #5

The KJV chopped out, "neither the Son". In the original Greek it says:
    "nor the son". (Kingdom interlinear)

    -- New King James
1 John 4:12 No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another,
God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us. Contradiction
    #6.

Yet people saw Jesus. And Jesus said those who have seen me have seen
the Father. But did they literly see the Father?
    No. Notice:

    - New King James
John 6:46 "Not that anyone has seen the Father, except He who is from
God; He has seen the Father.

Thus Jesus meant God's attributes. Contradiction #7

So if adding a word for clarity is so wrong, then MOST ALL
    TRANSLATIONS ARE ALL WRONG. Notice:

"There are two issues affecting the translating of the verse, 1)
theology and 2) proper application of grammatical rules. The commonly
held theology that Jesus is God may lead one to believe that the
proper way to render the verse is the traditional rendering.[27] The
opposing theology that Jesus is subordinate to God as his Chief agent
may lead to the conclusion that "... a god" or "... divine" is the
proper rendering.[28] This highlights the importance of understanding
and applying the proper grammatical rules to any translation to avoid
    bias."

"Translations by James Moffatt, Edgar J. Goodspeed and Hugh J.
Schonfield render part of the verse as "...the Word [Logos] was
    divine"."

"An Eastern/Greek Orthodox Bible commentary notes:
This second theos could also be translated 'divine' as the
construction indicates "a qualitative sense for theos"." (https://www.theworldnewsmedia.org/topic/55611-christ-divinity-explained-in-john-11c/)

"In a 1973 Journal of Biblical Literature article, Philip B. Harner,
Professor Emeritus of Religion at Heidelberg College, claimed that the traditional translation of John 1:1c ("and the Word was God") is
incorrect. He endorses the New English Bible translation of John 1:1c,
"and what God was, the Word was."[50] However, Harner's claim has been criticized.[51] Harner says:"

So in summary. John 1:1 is controvertible at best. The definite
article "the" has been inserted there in order to read better in
    English.

Also, because of the Greek grammar there, many Bible say "a God"
instead of just "God". But if you believe the latter one, then you
would have to explain all the contradictions that would cause. Such as
    Paul's statement at 1 Cor 11:3,

    - King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

"Sincerely" and "solely from the Bible" James, letrCOs slow this down and
hold it up against Scripture itself. You are trying to build a case that
John 1:1 is rCLcontrovertible,rCY but the Greek grammar and the context say otherwise.

First, the Greek text of John 1:1 reads:

    b+y++ b+C-U-cb+c b+a++ b+U ++-i+|++-e,
    +|+#b+| b+U ++-i+|++-e b+a++ -C-Ub++-e -ab++++ +++|-i++,
    +|+#b+| +++|b++-e b+a++ b+U ++-i+|++-e.

    Notice two things:

    1. *The subject and predicate are distinguished by the article.* John
did not write rCLb+U +++|b++-e b+a++ b+U ++-i+|++-erCY (the God was the Word). That would
make the Father and the Word identical in person. Instead he dropped the article before *theos* (rCLGodrCY) and placed the article before *logos* (rCLWordrCY), showing that rCLthe WordrCY is the subject and rCLGodrCY is the predicate. This construction indicates quality, not indefiniteness. It
means: rCLThe Word was fully God,rCY not rCLa god.rCY ThatrCOs why grammarians call it a *Colwell construction.*

    2. *John carefully guards against confusion.*
rCo Phrase one: rCLIn beginning was the WordrCY = eternal preexistence (compare Genesis 1:1).
rCo Phrase two: rCLthe Word was with GodrCY = distinction of persons.
rCo Phrase three: rCLthe Word was GodrCY = identity of nature.
JohnrCOs balance is perfect. He avoids Sabellianism (that the Son is
the Father) and avoids Arianism (that the Son is a lesser god).

Now, the supposed rCLcontradictionsrCY vanish when we read the texts rightly:

    * *Proverbs 8:22, 30.* This is Wisdom personified. The NT shows that
Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24), but Proverbs is not a literal biography of the SonrCOs origin. The Son is eternal (John 17:5). Wisdom rCLbrought forthrCY is poetic imagery.

    * *Psalm 90:2.* ExactlyrCoGod is from everlasting to everlasting. But
Hebrews 1 applies those very eternal attributes to the Son: rCLYour
throne, O God, is forever and everrCY (Hebrews 1:8, ESV).

    * *rCLJesus died.rCY* Yes, in His humanity. But His divine nature never ceased. If God could not assume flesh that could die, then salvation
would be impossible. The eternal Son took on true humanity so He could
taste death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9).

    * *Luke 18:19.* Jesus was not denying His own goodness, but exposing the manrCOs shallow understanding. If only God is good, then JesusrCO goodness reveals His deity.

    * *Matthew 24:36.* As the incarnate Son, He voluntarily accepted limits
to knowledge (Philippians 2:6rCo7). That does not contradict His deity, it displays His humility.

    * *1 John 4:12 / John 6:46.* True: no one has seen the Father in His
essence. But the Son, who is Himself God, has made Him known (John
1:18). Seeing Jesus is the fullest revelation of God available to man.

As for your point about rCLthe beginningrCY lacking the article, Greek often omits the article where English requires it. That is why virtually every translator in history rightly renders it rCLIn the beginning.rCY The absence of the article does not mean rCLin a beginning.rCY It refers to the absolute beginning, before all creation (compare Genesis 1:1 LXX: b+E++ b+C-U-cb+c).

Finally, the claim that many Bibles read rCLa godrCY is misleading. The
vast, overwhelming majority of all translations across history, ancient
and modern, read rCLthe Word was God.rCY A few isolated versions that experimented with rCLa godrCY or rCLdivinerCY have been rejected because they ignore the grammar and context. Even Philip Harner, whom you quoted,
argued for qualitative force: rCLwhat God was, the Word wasrCYrConot that He was rCLa god.rCY

The grammar, the context, and the rest of Scripture all align:
rCo The Son is eternal (John 17:5).
rCo The Son created all things (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).
rCo The Son is called God directly (Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13).
rCo The Son shares the FatherrCOs glory (John 17:5).

So John 1:1 is not rCLcontrovertible.rCY It is the cornerstone: the eternal Word, distinct from the Father, yet fully God.

Would you like me to show how the immediate verses after John 1:1 (vv.
2rCo3) completely rule out the rCLa god/created beingrCY interpretation?

Look carefully at John 1:1rCo3, James:

rCLIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
    Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing
made that was maderCY (John 1:1rCo3, ESV).

    Verse 3 is decisive.

    1. *The Word is eternal.*
John repeats it for emphasis: rCLHe was in the beginning with GodrCY (v. 2). That removes any thought that the Word Himself was a created being.
If the Word were made, He would belong inside the class of rCLthings that
    were made.rCY

    2. *The Word created *all things*.*
rCLAll things were made through him.rCY This is universal. Nothing that exists owes its origin to anyone but the Word.

    3. *John closes the loophole.*
rCLWithout him was not anything made that was made.rCY That means if the Word were created, He would have had to create HimselfrCowhich is
impossible. The Word cannot be both the Creator of all and yet Himself a product of creation.

That is why Paul echoes the same truth:

rCo rCLFor by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisiblerCaall things were created through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all things hold togetherrCY (Colossians 1:16rCo17, ESV).

If Christ created everything in heaven and earthrCovisible and
invisiblerCoHe cannot belong to either category. He stands outside
creation, eternal, uncreated, the very source of existence.

This shuts the door completely on the claim that John 1:1 should read rCLa god.rCY The one who is called the Word is the eternal Creator, distinct
from the Father, but fully sharing the nature of God.

HererCOs how John ties the whole prologue together, James:

rCLNo one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the FatherrCOs side,
he has made him knownrCY (John 1:18, ESV).

    1. *rCLNo one has ever seen God.rCY*
John reminds us that the Father in His essence is invisible (compare
    1 Timothy 6:16).

    2. *rCLThe only God, who is at the FatherrCOs side.rCY*
Some manuscripts read *monogen-os theos*rCorCLthe only begotten God.rCY Others read *monogen-os huios*rCorCLthe only begotten Son.rCY In either case, John is declaring that the Son is uniquely begotten and is Himself God,
yet distinct from the Father because He is rCLat the FatherrCOs side.rCY

    3. *rCLHe has made him known.rCY*
The Son fully reveals the Father, because He shares the FatherrCOs
    very nature (John 14:9).

    So John begins with:
rCo The Word was with God and was God (John 1:1).

    And ends with:
rCo The only begotten God, who is at the FatherrCOs side, has revealed Him (John 1:18).

The rCLbookendsrCY of the prologue leave no room for Jesus being rCLa godrCY or
a created being. He is eternal, uncreated, and the full revealer of the
Father because He Himself is God by nature.

LetrCOs trace JohnrCOs witness to ChristrCOs deity through the Gospel, James. It isnrCOt just in 1:1 and 1:18rCoit runs like a thread throughout.

    1. *John 5:18*
rCLThis was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him,
because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling
God his own Father, making himself equal with God.rCY
rCo The Jews understood that JesusrCO claims placed Him on equality with God.

    2. *John 8:58*
rCLJesus said to them, rCyTruly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham
    was, I am.rCOrCY
rCo Jesus didnrCOt just claim pre-existence; He used the divine name rCLI AMrCY (compare Exodus 3:14). The Jews responded by picking up stones for blasphemy.

    3. *John 10:30*
rCLI and the Father are one.rCY
rCo Not rCLone personrCY but rCLone in essence.rCY The Jews again tried to stone Him, because they rightly understood this as a claim to deity.

    4. *John 14:9*
rCLWhoever has seen me has seen the Father.rCY
rCo Not just reflecting God, but fully revealing Him, because He
    shares the divine nature.

    5. *John 20:28*
Thomas answered him, rCLMy Lord and my God!rCY
rCo The Gospel closes with the climactic confession of JesusrCO deity,
and Jesus commends ThomasrCO faith instead of correcting him.

    So JohnrCOs Gospel is consistent:
rCo Prologue: the Word was God (1:1) rCa the only God at the FatherrCOs side (1:18).
rCo Ministry: Jesus claims divine prerogatives and titles (5:18, 8:58,
    10:30, 14:9).
rCo Conclusion: Thomas confesses Him as God (20:28).

The structure is deliberate: John begins, continues, and ends with the
    same truthrCoJesus is fully God.

Then letrCOs expand beyond John, James, and see how the whole New
Testament speaks with one voice about ChristrCOs deity:

    1. *Paul*
rCo *Colossians 1:16rCo17*: rCLFor by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisiblerCaall things were created
through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all
    things hold together.rCY
raA If Christ created *all* things and sustains them, He cannot be
    part of creation.
rCo *Colossians 2:9*: rCLFor in him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.rCY
raA Not just rCLdivine quality,rCY but the fullness of GodrCOs being.
rCo *Titus 2:13*: rCLrCaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY
raA The Greek grammar (Granville Sharp rule) requires one person:
Christ is called both God and Savior.

    2. *Peter*
rCo *2 Peter 1:1*: rCLrCaby the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY
raA Again, one person: Jesus is both God and Savior.

    3. *Author of Hebrews*
rCo *Hebrews 1:3*: rCLHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the
    exact imprint of his nature.rCY
raA Christ is not a copy or a lesser being, but the exact
    representation of GodrCOs very essence.
rCo *Hebrews 1:8* (quoting Psalm 45:6): rCLBut of the Son he says, rCyYour throne, O God, is forever and ever.rCOrCY
raA The Father Himself addresses the Son as God.

    4. *Paul again, in Philippians 2:6rCo7*
rCo rCLThough he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God
a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant.rCY
raA The Son existed in the very form of God before He humbled Himself
    in incarnation.

Together, John, Paul, Peter, and the author of Hebrews all testify:
    rCo The Son is eternal.
rCo The Son is the Creator.
rCo The Son shares GodrCOs very essence.
rCo The Son is rightly addressed and worshiped as God.

Here is the consolidated chain of testimony across the New Testament
that affirms Christ as God, James:

    *JohnrCOs Witness*
rCo John 1:1 rCo rCLIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.rCY
rCo John 1:18 rCo rCLThe only God, who is at the FatherrCOs side, he has made him known.rCY
rCo John 5:18 rCo The Jews sought to kill Him rCLbecauserCahe was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.rCY
rCo John 8:58 rCo rCLBefore Abraham was, I am.rCY
rCo John 10:30 rCo rCLI and the Father are one.rCY
rCo John 20:28 rCo Thomas: rCLMy Lord and my God!rCY

    *PaulrCOs Witness*
rCo Colossians 1:16rCo17 rCo By Him all things were created; He is before all things; in Him all things hold together.
rCo Colossians 2:9 rCo rCLIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.rCY rCo Philippians 2:6 rCo He existed in the rCLform of GodrCY and equal with God before taking the form of a servant.
rCo Titus 2:13 rCo rCLrCaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY

    *PeterrCOs Witness*
rCo 2 Peter 1:1 rCo rCLrCathe righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY

    *Author of Hebrews*
rCo Hebrews 1:3 rCo rCLHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.rCY
rCo Hebrews 1:8 rCo rCLBut of the Son he says, rCyYour throne, O God, is forever
    and ever.rCOrCY

    *Additional Witnesses*
rCo Revelation 1:17rCo18 rCo The First and the Last, who died and is alive forevermore (divine title applied to Christ).
rCo Revelation 22:13 rCo rCLI am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.rCY

This chain shows unity across all major NT witnesses:
    rCo John (eyewitness apostle),
rCo Paul (apostle to the Gentiles),
rCo Peter (pillar of the church),
rCo the author of Hebrews (inspired theologian of ChristrCOs priesthood),
rCo and John again in Revelation.

All declare: the Son is eternal, Creator, exact image of GodrCOs nature, worshiped as God, and addressed as God.

Here is a progressive outline of the New Testament witness to ChristrCOs deity, James. Notice how each step builds on the last:

    *1. Christ is Eternal*
rCo John 1:1 rCo rCLIn the beginning was the WordrCa and the Word was God.rCY rCo John 8:58 rCo rCLBefore Abraham was, I am.rCY
rCo Revelation 22:13 rCo rCLI am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the last, the beginning and the end.rCY

    *2. Christ is the Creator*
rCo John 1:3 rCo rCLAll things were made through him, and without him was not any thing made that was made.rCY
rCo Colossians 1:16rCo17 rCo rCLBy him all things were createdrCa and in him all
    things hold together.rCY
rCo Hebrews 1:2 rCo God rCLhas spoken to us by his SonrCa through whom also he created the world.rCY

*3. Christ Shares GodrCOs Nature Fully*
rCo Colossians 2:9 rCo rCLIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.rCY rCo Hebrews 1:3 rCo rCLHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact imprint of his nature.rCY
rCo Philippians 2:6 rCo rCLThough he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped.rCY

    *4. Christ Bears GodrCOs Titles*
rCo John 10:30 rCo rCLI and the Father are one.rCY
rCo Titus 2:13 rCo rCLrCaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY
rCo 2 Peter 1:1 rCo rCLrCathe righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.rCY
rCo Hebrews 1:8 rCo rCLBut of the Son he says, rCyYour throne, O God, is forever
    and ever.rCOrCY

*5. Christ Receives Worship Due to God Alone*
rCo John 20:28 rCo Thomas: rCLMy Lord and my God!rCY (Jesus affirms, not corrects).
rCo Revelation 1:17rCo18 rCo Worshiped as rCLthe First and the LastrCa I died, and
    behold I am alive forevermore.rCY
rCo Philippians 2:10rCo11 rCo rCLAt the name of Jesus every knee should bowrCa and
every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.rCY

This outline shows a clear, consistent progression:
rCo Eternal raA Creator raA Divine Nature raA Divine Titles raA Divine Worship.

    Summary

    John 1:1 cannot mean rCLa god.rCY The Greek grammar (+++|b++-e b+a++ b+U ++-i+|++-e) shows
quality, not indefiniteness. If the Word were rCLa god,rCY John 1:3 would collapse, because rCLall things were made through him, and without him was
not anything made that was made.rCY If the Word were created, He would
fall under rCLthings made.rCY But John excludes that.

    The New Testament everywhere confirms:
rCo *Eternal*: rCLBefore Abraham was, I amrCY (John 8:58).
rCo *Creator*: rCLBy him all things were createdrCY (Colossians 1:16).
rCo *Nature*: rCLIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodilyrCY (Colossians 2:9).
rCo *Titles*: rCLOur great God and Savior Jesus ChristrCY (Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8).
rCo *Worship*: Thomas: rCLMy Lord and my God!rCY (John 20:28); rCLAt the name of
Jesus every knee should bowrCY (Philippians 2:10rCo11).

Step by step: Eternal raA Creator raA Divine Nature raA Divine Titles raA Divine
    Worship.
This united testimony of Scripture leaves no room for Jesus as rCLa god.rCY
    He is fully God.

HererCOs a direct answer against the NWT rendering, James:

The NWT reads: rCLIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was a godrCY (John 1:1). But verses 2rCo3 immediately
    refute that interpretation:

rCo rCLHe was in the beginning with God. All things were made through him,
and without him was not anything made that was maderCY (John 1:2rCo3, ESV).

If the Word were rCLa god,rCY then He would be one of the rCLthings that were made.rCY But John closes that loophole: nothing made was made without Him.
If He made everything, He cannot be a creature.

    The rest of Scripture agrees:
rCo *Eternal* rCo rCLBefore Abraham was, I amrCY (John 8:58).
rCo *Creator* rCo rCLBy him all things were createdrCa all things were created through him and for himrCY (Colossians 1:16).
rCo *Nature* rCo rCLIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodilyrCY (Colossians 2:9).
rCo *Titles* rCo rCLOur great God and Savior Jesus ChristrCY (Titus 2:13; Hebrews 1:8).
rCo *Worship* rCo Thomas confessed, rCLMy Lord and my God!rCY (John 20:28), and
Paul says every knee will bow to Him (Philippians 2:10rCo11).

The NWTrCOs rCLa godrCY contradicts the context of John 1:3 and the unanimous NT witness. The Word is eternal, uncreated, and fully God.

Here is a point-by-point rebuttal of each so-called rCLcontradiction,rCY James. Every one of them collapses under ScripturerCOs own explanation.

*Claimed Contradiction #1: Proverbs 8:30 rCo rCLI was beside him.rCY*
James argues: If the Word was God, He couldnrCOt be beside God.
*Answer:* Proverbs 8 is poetry personifying wisdom, not a literal
biography of the SonrCOs rCLbeginning.rCY The New Testament later applies wisdom language to Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24), but that doesnrCOt mean Proverbs teaches He was created. John 1:1 settles the matter: the Word
*was with* God (distinction of persons) and *was God* (unity of nature).

*Claimed Contradiction #2: Proverbs 8:22 rCo rCLThe LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way.rCY*
James argues: The Word had a beginning.
*Answer:* The Hebrew verb *qanah* can mean rCLpossess,rCY rCLestablish,rCY or rCLbring forth.rCY In context, it speaks of wisdomrCOs role in creation, not the Son being made. If you force this as creation, then GodrCOs own wisdom
had a beginningrCowhich is absurd. Christ as GodrCOs eternal Word is
    uncreated (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).

*Claimed Contradiction #3: Psalm 90:2 rCo God is rCLfrom everlasting to everlasting.rCY*
James argues: God never died, but Jesus did, so He canrCOt be God.
*Answer:* In His humanity, Jesus truly died (Hebrews 2:9). In His divine nature, He is eternal and unchangeable (Hebrews 13:8). The incarnation
    united full deity with full humanity. God did not cease to exist;
rather, the Son offered up His human life for our redemption.

*Claimed Contradiction #4: Luke 18:19 rCo rCLNo one is good but One, that
    is, God.rCY*
James argues: Jesus denied being God.
*Answer:* JesusrCO point was to confront the manrCOs shallow view of rCLgood.rCY
If only God is good, and Jesus is good, then the implication is that
Jesus is God. He was drawing the man to recognize His true identity, not denying it.

*Claimed Contradiction #5: Matthew 24:36 rCo rCLNor the Son, but the Father only.rCY*

James argues: If Jesus is God, He would know everything.
*Answer:* In His humanity, the Son voluntarily accepted limits
(Philippians 2:6rCo7). Yet as God He knows all things (John 16:30; 21:17). This isnrCOt contradiction but the mystery of the incarnation: one Person
with both divine omniscience and real human limitation.

*Claimed Contradiction #6: 1 John 4:12 rCo rCLNo one has seen God at any time.rCY*

James argues: People saw Jesus, so He canrCOt be God.
*Answer:* No one has seen the Father in His essence (John 6:46). But
John 1:18 explains: rCLThe only God, who is at the FatherrCOs side, he has made him known.rCY Seeing Jesus is seeing the perfect revelation of God
    (John 14:9).

*Claimed Contradiction #7: John 6:46 rCo rCLNot that anyone has seen the Father, except he who is from God.rCY*

James argues: Therefore when Jesus said, rCLHe who has seen me has seen
the Father,rCY He meant attributes only, not deity.
*Answer:* Jesus doesnrCOt say He merely shows GodrCOs attributes. He says He perfectly reveals the Father because He and the Father are one (John
10:30). His visible humanity disclosed the invisible God, which no mere creature could do.

    *Summary:*

Not one of these texts contradicts John 1:1. Each one is harmonized in
    the doctrine of the incarnation:
rCo Distinction of persons (the Word was with God).
rCo Unity of essence (the Word was God).
rCo True humanity assumed by the eternal Son, so that He could die, while remaining eternally God.

The supposed rCLcontradictionsrCY come only from forcing texts out of
context. The Scriptures, read together, are consistent: Jesus Christ is
the eternal Word, Creator, and true God.
    --
Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (rCa), and God
    raised Him from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death
satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John
2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your
sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on
the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).

    John 1:1 supplement

(John 1:1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
and the Word was a god. (NWT)

    -- King James
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.

Jhn 1:2 He was in the beginning with God.

This is not speaking of Jesus being born as a human, not at all. It IS speaking of the beginning direct reference to the creation of this world and all that existed in it before the fall of Adam into in. Why try to distort
and reshape the narrative of Gods word as given to man?

All your distortions are correctly described here. This is from the NKJV version and the words that are capitalized are quotes from the OT from
various books such as Psalms, Isaiah, etc.

So read this very carefully, and may the LORD open your eyes to see the irrefutable truth of God, and Jesus as God before the creations of this
world. And it explains also why it was that he came here to die as a Human.
As well as why Born Again people who walk in the spirit are one with Jesus.
As Jesus is One the His Father.

Heb 2:5 For He has not put the world to come, of which we speak, in
    subjection to angels.

Heb 2:6 But one testified in a certain place, saying: "WHAT IS MAN THAT YOU ARE MINDFUL OF HIM, OR THE SON OF MAN THAT YOU TAKE CARE OF HIM?

Heb 2:7 YOU HAVE MADE HIM A LITTLE LOWER THAN THE ANGELS; YOU HAVE CROWNED
HIM WITH GLORY AND HONOR, AND SET HIM OVER THE WORKS OF YOUR HANDS.

Heb 2:8 YOU HAVE PUT ALL THINGS IN SUBJECTION UNDER HIS FEET." For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothingthat is not put under him.
But now we do not yet see all things put under him.

Heb 2:9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels, for
the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor, that He, by the grace of God, might taste death for everyone.

Heb 2:10 For it was fitting for Him, for whom are all things and by whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the captain of their salvation perfect through sufferings.

Heb 2:11 For both He who sanctifies and those who are being sanctified are
all of one, for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,

Heb 2:12 saying: "I WILL DECLARE YOUR NAME TO MY BRETHREN; IN THE MIDST OF
THE ASSEMBLY I WILL SING PRAISE TO YOU.rCY

Heb 2:13 And again: "I WILL PUT MY TRUST IN HIM." And again: "HERE AM I AND THE CHILDREN WHOM GOD HAS GIVEN ME.rCY

Heb 2:14 Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

Heb 2:15 and release those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage.

Heb 2:16 For indeed He does not give aid to angels, but He does give aid to the seed of Abraham.

Heb 2:17 Therefore, in all things He had to be made likeHis brethren, that He might be a merciful and faithful High Priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

Heb 2:18 For in that He Himself has suffered, being tempted, He is able to
    aid those who are tempted.

Even in the NWT I am sure it references the fact that Jesus desired for his disciples to see him with the Glory that was His before he was born as a man. rCLFormer GLORYrCY.

This second theos could also be translated 'divine' as the
construction indicates "a qualitative sense for theos"." (https://www.theworldnewsmedia.org/topic/55611-christ-divinity-explained-in-jo
    hn-11c/)

"In a 1973 Journal of Biblical Literature article, Philip B. Harner, Professor Emeritus of Religion at Heidelberg College, claimed that the traditional translation of John 1:1c ("and the Word was God") is

"Sincerely" and "solely from the Bible" James, letAs slow this down and
hold it up against Scripture itself. You are trying to build a case that >John 1:1 is ocontrovertible,o but the Greek grammar and the context say >otherwise.

First, the Greek text of John 1:1 reads:

    ?? ???? ?? ? ?????,
    ??? ? ????? ?? ???? ??? ????,
    ??? ???? ?? ? ?????.

    Notice two things:

    1. *The subject and predicate are distinguished by the article.* John
did not write o? ???? ?? ? ?????o (the God was the Word). That would
make the Father and the Word identical in person. Instead he dropped the >article before *theos* (oGodo) and placed the article before *logos* >(oWordo), showing that othe Wordo is the subject and oGodo is the
predicate. This construction indicates quality, not indefiniteness. It >means: oThe Word was fully God,o not oa god.o ThatAs why grammarians
    call it a *Colwell construction.*

By calling the first theos "the God" he was establishing the subject.
And many, many Bible scholars and theologians say "a god" is the way
the last theos should be translated. (see below)

Since that is not a popular view, you don't hear of it that much. If
you apply the Greek rule there, those many Bible scholars do, "a god"
as the output. If they don't (which most churches teach), then "God"
is the output. So take your pick.

But if "God" is the output, it CONTRADICTS many other Scriptures. And
I can't accept that. (see below)

    2. *John carefully guards against confusion.*
u Phrase one: oIn beginning was the Wordo = eternal preexistence
    (compare Genesis 1:1).
u Phrase two: othe Word was with Godo = distinction of persons.
u Phrase three: othe Word was Godo = identity of nature.
JohnAs balance is perfect. He avoids Sabellianism (that the Son is
    the Father)

Yet most the churches teach otherwise:

    - New King James
John 14:9 Jesus said to him, "Have I been with you so long, and yet
    you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father;
so how can you say, `Show us the Father'?

and avoids Arianism (that the Son is a lesser god).

Yes, the churches teach that the Son and God are equal, as being part
of a Trinity: (see the Athanasian Creed) Yet the BIBLE says otherwise:

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

The apostle Paul made that statement while Jesus had already been in
    Heaven with God:

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

Now, the supposed ocontradictionso vanish when we read the texts rightly:

According to this interlinear, in its basic raw English reads:

"In beginning was the Word, and the Word was toward the God, and god
was the word. (The Kingdom Interlinear Translation of the Greek
    Scriptures)

But since to my knowledge, the 1st century Greek had no punctuation
and capital letters, it would read:

"in beginning was the word and the word was toward the god and god was
    the word".

    * *Proverbs 8:22, 30.* This is Wisdom personified.

Actually I disagree. Yes, God gave Jesus wisdom. But it is not just
    speaking about wisdom. Notice:

    - Revised Standard
Proverbs 8:23 Ages ago I was set up, at the first, before the
    beginning of the earth.

Since God ALWAYS existed, wisdom was ALWAYS existing. This is clearly
showing something starting. "Ages ago I was set up, at the first".

God didn't need to "set up" wisdom. He always had it. But when God
created His Son (Col 1:15) as the FIRST of God's creations, he set him
    up with wisdom.

    he NT shows that
Christ is the wisdom of God (1 Corinthians 1:24), but Proverbs is not a >literal biography of the SonAs origin. The Son is eternal (John 17:5).

Ever since he was created, he was made to live forever. (Col 1:15)

    -- New King James
John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with
the glory which I had with You before the world was.

There is no mention here that Jesus always was, like it says God was.
    (Ps 90:2)

Wisdom obrought fortho is poetic imagery.

    * *Psalm 90:2.* ExactlyuGod is from everlasting to everlasting. But
Hebrews 1 applies those very eternal attributes to the Son: oYour
throne, O God, is forever and evero (Hebrews 1:8, ESV).

Bad translation. If it claims Jesus is God, then it just contradicted
mucho Scriptures such as 1 Cor 11:3 as Jesus was already in Heaven
    with God:

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

    * *oJesus died.o* Yes, in His humanity. But His divine nature never
    ceased.

And the Scripture saying that? Jesus had to equal Adam when he came to
earth. Adam had no divine qualities, and neither did Jesus as a human.
But the miracles? These were done by God through Jesus:

    -- New King James
John 5:30 "I can of Myself do nothing. As I hear, I judge; and My
judgment is righteous, because I do not seek My own will but the will
of the Father who sent Me.

"I can of Myself do nothing".

If God could not assume flesh that could die, then salvation
would be impossible. The eternal Son took on true humanity so He could
taste death for everyone (Hebrews 2:9).

But God never died. The Bible says this at:

Psalms 90:2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever You had
formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting,
You are God. (see also 1 Tim 1:17)

    * *Luke 18:19.* Jesus was not denying His own goodness, but exposing the >manAs shallow understanding. If only God is good, then JesusA goodness >reveals His deity.

Jesus made it clear. Jesus' goodness is no match for God's goodness.
And it is similar with humans. Our goodness is no match for Jesus'
    goodness.

    -- New King James
Luke 18:19 So Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is
good but One, that is, God.

    * *Matthew 24:36.* As the incarnate Son, He voluntarily accepted limits
to knowledge (Philippians 2:6u7). That does not contradict His deity, it >displays His humility.

If Jesus, you claim is God, downgraded himself mentally, who ran the
universe at that time? And who else is he referring to here?

    -- Revised Standard
    John 5:30 "I can do nothing on my own authority; as I hear, I judge;
and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will
    of him who sent me.

    * *1 John 4:12 / John 6:46.* True: no one has seen the Father in His >essence. But the Son, who is Himself God, has made Him known (John
1:18). Seeing Jesus is the fullest revelation of God available to man.

    -- New King James
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time.

Yet people saw Jesus ("who is Himself God") You just contradicted
    yourself.

The only begotten Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has
    declared Him.

What do you think "bosom of the Father" meant?

As for your point about othe beginningo lacking the article, Greek often >omits the article where English requires it. That is why virtually every >translator in history rightly renders it oIn the beginning.o The absence
of the article does not mean oin a beginning.o It refers to the absolute >beginning, before all creation (compare Genesis 1:1 LXX: ?? ????).

Since most all the translations ADD a word (the) there for English
clarity, JW's added the "a" rightly for English clarity.

Finally, the claim that many Bibles read oa godo is misleading. The
vast, overwhelming majority of all translations across history, ancient
and modern, read othe Word was God.o A few isolated versions that >experimented with oa godo or odivineo have been rejected because they
ignore the grammar and context. Even Philip Harner, whom you quoted,
argued for qualitative force: owhat God was, the Word wasounot that He
    was oa god.o

That's because history believed the Trinity. They had to make it out
that way, which they did. But they ignored the Greek rule evident in
that sentence. And the Catholic Bible's footnote on John 1:1 agreed:
    (NAB)

"Was God:lack of a definite article with "God" in Greek signifies
    predication rather than identification".

The grammar, the context, and the rest of Scripture all align:
u The Son is eternal (John 17:5).

    -- New King James
John 17:5 "And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with
the glory which I had with You before the world was.

Notice folks it doesn't mention Jesus living forever in the past. When
God created Jesus (Col 1:15) it was before the earth was created. It
ties in quite well with Jesus always in subjection to God. (1 Cor
    11:3)

u The Son created all things (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).

    -- New King James
John 1:3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing
    was made that was made.

    -- New King James
Colossians 1:16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven
and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or
dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through
    Him and for Him.

Actually God did the creating THROUGH Jesus. Notice who did the actual creating. Jesus helped in some way, but God did the creating:

    -- King James
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

u The Son is called God directly (Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13).

    -- New King James
Hebrews 1:8 But to the Son He says: "Your throne, O God, is forever
and ever; a scepter of righteousness is the scepter of Your Kingdom.

    Translation error!!

Concerning Hebrews 1:8. Is the word "God" in this verse referring to
Jesus or God Almighty.? The Apostle Paul here is quoting Ps 45:3-7
and then applying verses 6,7 to Jesus. Notice the context by verse 9
"therefore God, your God" shows that the person in verse 8 is one who
is anointed by God and one who worships God.

Also, the first application of Ps 45:3-7 was to King David who
foreshadowed Jesus Christ and was said to sit on God's throne. (1 Ch
29:23) Was the writer making the first application calling David,
Almighty God? Not likely. That is why the translation "Your throne, O
God," can also correctly be rendered "God is your throne" because
there is no verb "is" in the original Hebrew or Greek documents, thus
it is up to the translators to insert it. Since He 1:8 is quoting
Psalm 45:6 then He 1:8 can also be rendered "God is your throne".

    -- King James
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing
    of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

So how does it read in the raw Greek form:

"awaiting the happy hope and manifestation of the glory and the great
god and of savior of us of christ Jesus"

Thus a correct translation would be:

(Hebrews 1:8) But about the Son, he says: oGod is your throne forever
and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of
    uprightness. (NWT)

u The Son shares the FatherAs glory (John 17:5).

So John 1:1 is not ocontrovertible.o It is the cornerstone: the eternal >Word, distinct from the Father, yet fully God.

God gave us a brain. Hear yourself; "distinct from the Father, yet
    fully God."

That makes no sense and contradicts numerous Scriptures that say Jesus
    is NOT God.

Would you like me to show how the immediate verses after John 1:1 (vv.
2u3) completely rule out the oa god/created beingo interpretation?

Look carefully at John 1:1u3, James:

oIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the
    Word was God.
He was in the beginning with God.
All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing
made that was madeo (John 1:1u3, ESV).

    Verse 3 is decisive.

Yes God did the creating through Jesus. See again Gen 1:1.

    1. *The Word is eternal.*
John repeats it for emphasis: oHe was in the beginning with Godo (v.

2). That removes any thought that the Word Himself was a created being.
If the Word were made, He would belong inside the class of othings that
    were made.o

In the BEGINNING. God had no beginning. So what was "beginning" that
wasn't around before? God's creation of His son, and through him the
    rest of creation.

    - King James
Mark 10:6 But from the beginning of the creation God made them male
    and female.

    2. *The Word created *all things*.*
oAll things were made through him.o This is universal. Nothing that
exists owes its origin to anyone but the Word.

All things were created THROUGH him. Col 1:15,16 in context are THINGS
CREATED, of which Jesus was the first.

    3. *John closes the loophole.*
oWithout him was not anything made that was made.o That means if the
Word were created, He would have had to create Himselfuwhich is
impossible. The Word cannot be both the Creator of all and yet Himself a >product of creation.

That is what Col 1:15,16 says

That is why Paul echoes the same truth:

u oFor by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible
and invisibleaall things were created through him and for him. And he is >before all things, and in him all things hold togethero (Colossians
    1:16u17, ESV).

God did the creating THROUGH Jesus.

If Christ created everything in heaven and earthuvisible and
invisibleuHe cannot belong to either category. He stands outside
creation, eternal, uncreated, the very source of existence.

Look at the context again of Col 1:15,16. It is all things created,
    including the first, Jesus.

This shuts the door completely on the claim that John 1:1 should read oa >god.o The one who is called the Word is the eternal Creator, distinct
from the Father, but fully sharing the nature of God.

Actually it blows the door off its hinges. Jesus was created.

HereAs how John ties the whole prologue together, James:

oNo one has ever seen God; the only God, who is at the FatherAs side,
he has made him knowno (John 1:18, ESV).

    1. *oNo one has ever seen God.o*
John reminds us that the Father in His essence is invisible (compare
    1 Timothy 6:16).

Yes, but people say to me, the Scripture that says when people saw
Jesus they saw the Father, contradicts your John 1:18.

So let's look at John 1:18 in raw Greek:

"no man has seen at any time only begotten god the (one) being into
the bosom of the father that (one) explained
    (Kingdom Interlinear)

So "only begotten god" is what should be in the translation. Here is
    the most accurate reading:

(John 1:18) No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who
is at the FatherAs side is the one who has explained Him. (NWT)

    2. *oThe only God, who is at the FatherAs side.o*
Some manuscripts read *monogen?s theos*uothe only begotten God.o
Others read *monogen?s huios*uothe only begotten Son.o In either case,
John is declaring that the Son is uniquely begotten and is Himself God,
yet distinct from the Father because He is oat the FatherAs side.o

    See the correct Scripture above.

How can Jesus be God and at the same time be distinct? I know it's a
mystery they say. Actually it's an illogical doctrine. The NWT has it
    right.

    3. *oHe has made him known.o*
The Son fully reveals the Father, because He shares the FatherAs
    very nature (John 14:9).

Yet, NO ONE can see God or the Father and keep living.

    -- New King James
Exodus 33:20 But He said, "You cannot see My face; for no man shall
    see Me, and live.''

    So John begins with:
u The Word was with God and was God (John 1:1).

The correct version says "and was a god".

    And ends with:
u The only begotten God, who is at the FatherAs side, has revealed Him
    (John 1:18).

Here is the correct translation again:

(John 1:18) No man has seen God at any time; the only-begotten god who
is at the FatherAs side is the one who has explained Him. (NWT)

The obookendso of the prologue leave no room for Jesus being oa godo or
a created being. He is eternal, uncreated, and the full revealer of the >Father because He Himself is God by nature.

Then God died then. Who resurrected him?

LetAs trace JohnAs witness to ChristAs deity through the Gospel, James.
It isnAt just in 1:1 and 1:18uit runs like a thread throughout.

    1. *John 5:18*
oThis was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him,
because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling
God his own Father, making himself equal with God.o

Those "offspring of vipers" didn't know what they were talking about.
If I declare a man as my father, does that make me equal to him?

u The Jews understood that JesusA claims placed Him on equality with
    God.

But Paul says otherwise. He knew Jesus was in Heaven.

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

    2. *John 8:58*
oJesus said to them, aTruly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham
    was, I am.Ao
u Jesus didnAt just claim pre-existence; He used the divine name oI
AMo (compare Exodus 3:14). The Jews responded by picking up stones for >blasphemy.

They stoned him because Jesus said he existed before Abraham:

    -- New Living Translation
John 8:58 Jesus answered, "The truth is, I existed before Abraham was
    even born!"*

    3. *John 10:30*
oI and the Father are one.o
u Not oone persono but oone in essence.o The Jews again tried to
stone Him, because they rightly understood this as a claim to deity.

I could easily also say, "I and Trump are one". Does that make me
    Trump? King191]=alt.bible,alt.religion.Christian[

    4. *John 14:9*
oWhoever has seen me has seen the Father.o

Yet the Bible says no one has seen the Father except Jesus.

u Not just reflecting God, but fully revealing Him, because He
    shares the divine nature.

Yes, Jesus is divine, but is not God.

    5. *John 20:28*
Thomas answered him, oMy Lord and my God!o
u The Gospel closes with the climactic confession of JesusA deity,
and Jesus commends ThomasA faith instead of correcting him.

HOLY COW!! OH MY GOD!! Thomas' comment was one of shock and surprise.
He wasn't calling Jesus God anymore than I think cows are holy.

    So JohnAs Gospel is consistent:
u Prologue: the Word was God (1:1) a

See the Catholic's footnote on John 1:1 in their NAB Bible.

the only God at the FatherAs side
    (1:18).

Actually John 1:18 is one I use occasionally:

    -- New King James
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who
is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

If Jesus was God, then hundreds of people saw Jesus, thus God. Which contradicts John 1:18

u Ministry: Jesus claims divine prerogatives and titles (5:18, 8:58,
    10:30, 14:9).
u Conclusion: Thomas confesses Him as God (20:28).

Thomas knew better. He was likely around when Jesus said he was "God's
Son", not God or the Father.

The structure is deliberate: John begins, continues, and ends with the
    same truthuJesus is fully God.

Nonsense. That statement contradicts the Bible in many places.
Remember, the Bible is inspired of God. (2 Tim 3:16)
I am surprised it is as accurate that it is, with mankind messing with
    it

Then letAs expand beyond John, James, and see how the whole New
Testament speaks with one voice about ChristAs deity:

    1. *Paul*
u *Colossians 1:16u17*: oFor by him all things were created, in
heaven and on earth, visible and invisibleaall things were created
through him and for him. And he is before all things, and in him all
    things hold together.o
? If Christ created *all* things and sustains them, He cannot be
    part of creation.

Don't count on it. The Bible in many places say God created things
    THROUGH Jesus.

u *Colossians 2:9*: oFor in him the whole fullness of deity dwells
    bodily.o
? Not just odivine quality,o but the fullness of GodAs being.

Then all the people who saw Jesus should be dead.

u *Titus 2:13*: oaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.o
? The Greek grammar (Granville Sharp rule) requires one person:
Christ is called both God and Savior.

Let's go to the raw Greek again:
"awaiting the happy hope and manifestation of the glory of the great
god and of savior of us. of christ jesus".
    (Kingdom Interlinear)

    -- New American with Apocrypha
Titus 2:13 as we await the blessed hope, the appearance of the glory
of the great God and of our savior Jesus Christ,

That translation lists TWO people who have that "glory".

    2. *Peter*
u *2 Peter 1:1*: oaby the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus
    Christ.o
? Again, one person: Jesus is both God and Savior.

Another bad translation. Here is the raw Greek:

"simon peter slave and apostle of Jesus Christ to the (ones) equally
precious to us having obtained (by lot) faith in righteousness of the
god of us and of savior Jesus Christ".
    (Kingdom Interlinear)

    Again, two separate people mentioned.

    - New Revised Standard with Apocrypha
    2 Peter 1:1 Simeon {Other ancient authorities read [Simon]} Peter, a
servant {Gk [slave]} and apostle of Jesus Christ,
To those who have received a faith as precious as ours through the righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ: {Or [of our God and
    the Savior Jesus Christ]}

    3. *Author of Hebrews*
u *Hebrews 1:3*: oHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the
    exact imprint of his nature.o
? Christ is not a copy or a lesser being, but the exact
    representation of GodAs very essence.

Actually the correct word is IMAGE of God. That explains what all the
    other Scriptures are saying:

    - King James
Colossians 1:15 Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
    of every creature:

An "image" is only light bouncing off a certain type surface. It is
    not something solid.

u *Hebrews 1:8* (quoting Psalm 45:6): oBut of the Son he says, aYour
throne, O God, is forever and ever.Ao
? The Father Himself addresses the Son as God.

Not an accurate translation. So back to the raw Greek again:

"toward but the son the throne of you the god into the age of the age
and the staff of the straightness".
    (Kingdom Interlinear)

Thus it should read something like:

-- New Revised Standard with Apocrypha
Hebrews 1:8 But of the Son he says,
"Your throne, O God, is {Or [God is your throne]} forever and ever,
and the righteous scepter is the scepter of your {Other ancient
    authorities read [his]} kingdom.

    4. *Paul again, in Philippians 2:6u7*
u oThough he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God
a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a >servant.o
? The Son existed in the very form of God before He humbled Himself
    in incarnation.

Col 1:15 makes it clear that Jesus is an IMAGE of God. An image is not
the source of the image. We are made in God's image as well. Are we
    God also?

Together, John, Paul, Peter, and the author of Hebrews all testify:
    u The Son is eternal.

Yes, from his creation, he will live forever. And so can we. 1 John
    2:17.

u The Son is the Creator.

Negatrons. He helped his Father in some way to do the creating. Bible
says God created THROUGH Jesus. The person who did the creating, was
    God. (Gen 1:1)

u The Son shares GodAs very essence.

Yes, he is the perfect image of God.

u The Son is rightly addressed and worshiped as God.

Now you got into idolatry by worshipping a creation of God.
Even Jesus' personal angel said to "worship God", not Jesus:

    -- New King James
Revelation 19:10 And I fell at his feet to worship him. But he said
to me, "See that you do not do that! I am your fellow servant, and of
your brethren who have the testimony of Jesus. Worship God! For the
testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.''

Here is the consolidated chain of testimony across the New Testament
that affirms Christ as God, James:

    *JohnAs Witness*
u John 1:1 u oIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God,
    and the Word was God.o

    Was "a god"

u John 1:18 u oThe only God, who is at the FatherAs side, he has made
    him known.o

    Another bad translation.

    - New King James
John 1:18 No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten Son, who
is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

u John 5:18 u The Jews sought to kill Him obecauseahe was even calling
God his own Father, making himself equal with God.o

So if I called James senior my father, I would be equal to him?

    u John 8:58 u oBefore Abraham was, I am.o

Yes, he existed before Abraham. He might be billions of years old or
    even trillions.

u John 10:30 u oI and the Father are one.o

Then John 17:21,22 says that even Jesus followers were one with God
and Jesus. So John didn't mean it is a substance way.

u John 20:28 u Thomas: oMy Lord and my God!o

"HOLY SMOKE!!" "MY GOODNESS!!" "JESUS MARY AND JOSEPH!!"

    Thomas was shocked and surprised.

    *PaulAs Witness*
u Colossians 1:16u17 u By Him all things were created; He is before all >things; in Him all things hold together.

    Yes through him.

u Colossians 2:9 u oIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.o

Yes, he is the image of God.

u Philippians 2:6 u He existed in the oform of Godo and equal with God >before taking the form of a servant.

He is the image of God.

u Titus 2:13 u oaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.o

    Bad translation. See above.

    *PeterAs Witness*
u 2 Peter 1:1 u oathe righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.o

Two separate people named. See above.

    *Author of Hebrews*
u Hebrews 1:3 u oHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact >imprint of his nature.o

    Yes, Jesus copied God perfectly.

u Hebrews 1:8 u oBut of the Son he says, aYour throne, O God, is forever
    and ever.Ao

    Bad translation see above.

    *Additional Witnesses*
u Revelation 1:17u18 u The First and the Last, who died and is alive >forevermore (divine title applied to Christ).

Yes, Jesus was the FIRST of God's creations.

u Revelation 22:13 u oI am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the
last, the beginning and the end.o

    See above.

This chain shows unity across all major NT witnesses:
    u John (eyewitness apostle),
u Paul (apostle to the Gentiles),
u Peter (pillar of the church),
u the author of Hebrews (inspired theologian of ChristAs priesthood),
u and John again in Revelation.

All declare: the Son is eternal, Creator, exact image of GodAs nature, >worshiped as God, and addressed as God.

No way Jose. See discussions above.

Here is a progressive outline of the New Testament witness to ChristAs >deity, James. Notice how each step builds on the last:

    *1. Christ is Eternal*
u John 1:1 u oIn the beginning was the Worda and the Word was God.o
    u John 8:58 u oBefore Abraham was, I am.o
u Revelation 22:13 u oI am the Alpha and the Omega, the first and the
last, the beginning and the end.o

    *2. Christ is the Creator*
u John 1:3 u oAll things were made through him, and without him was not
any thing made that was made.o
u Colossians 1:16u17 u oBy him all things were createda and in him all >things hold together.o

Already been through them. See above.

u Hebrews 1:2 u God ohas spoken to us by his Sona through whom also he >created the world.o

Right. All creation was made THROUGH Jesus. But God did the creating.
    (see Gen 1:1)

*3. Christ Shares GodAs Nature Fully*
u Colossians 2:9 u oIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodily.o

    -- International English
Colossians 2:9 The totality of divinity lives embodied in Christ.

u Hebrews 1:3 u oHe is the radiance of the glory of God and the exact >imprint of his nature.o

Yes Jesus copied God's ways to the letter.

u Philippians 2:6 u oThough he was in the form of God, did not count >equality with God a thing to be grasped.o

Yes, he never claimed to be equal to God. On the contrary at John
14:28 Jesus said the Father was greater than him.

The apostle Paul said with Jesus in Heaven, God was superior to him.
    (1 Cor 11:3)

You have a translation that fits in with the 4th century Trinity

    *4. Christ Bears GodAs Titles*
u John 10:30 u oI and the Father are one.o

One what? One substance? If so then skip to John 17:21,22
where Jesus disciples are also ONE with God and Jesus.

u Titus 2:13 u oaour great God and Savior Jesus Christ.o

    -- King James
Titus 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing
    of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
    2 separate persons here.

u 2 Peter 1:1 u oathe righteousness of our God and Savior Jesus Christ.o

    - King James
2 Peter 1:1 Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to
them that have obtained like precious faith with us through the
righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:

    Again, 2 people there.

u Hebrews 1:8 u oBut of the Son he says, aYour throne, O God, is forever
    and ever.Ao

The Bible scholar B.F.Wescott said that it was scarcely possible that
"Elohim" (God) should be addressed to a human king thus the
translation "God is thy throne" seemed the best one.

(Hebrews 1:8) But about the Son, he says: oGod is your throne forever
and ever, and the scepter of your Kingdom is the scepter of
    uprightness. (NWT)

*5. Christ Receives Worship Due to God Alone*
u John 20:28 u Thomas: oMy Lord and my God!o (Jesus affirms, not corrects).

Why should he correct a euphemism? It's like me saying "Great Caesar's
    Ghost!!"

u Revelation 1:17u18 u Worshiped as othe First and the Lasta I died, and >behold I am alive forevermore.o

Yes, Jesus was given eternal life by God.

u Philippians 2:10u11 u oAt the name of Jesus every knee should bowa and >every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord.o

Yes, he can carry the title "Lord".

This outline shows a clear, consistent progression:
u Eternal ? Creator ? Divine Nature ? Divine Titles ? Divine Worship.

Eternal= Yes, from the time he was resurrected.
Creator= No. Gen 1:1 tells who the Creator was. But Jesus assisted.
    Divine nature= Yes.
Divine Titles= Yes, he is a Lord.
Divine worship= No. shouldn't worship something created.

    Summary

John 1:1 cannot mean oa god.o The Greek grammar (???? ?? ? ?????) shows >quality, not indefiniteness. If the Word were oa god,o John 1:3 would >collapse, because oall things were made through him, and without him was
not anything made that was made.o If the Word were created, He would
fall under othings made.o But John excludes that.

Because if a person had a half of brain in their head, Jesus didn't
create himself. And there is a sub divide here.

God created Jesus directly. After that, all other creations came
THROUGH Jesus. If Jesus was God, he would be equal to God while in
    Heaven. (see Athanasian Creed)

    -- King James
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every
man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of
    Christ is God.

You just can't ignore Scriptures like that, and just keep repeating
your favorite ones. I could do the same thing:

Only God is good. (Luke 18:19)
Jesus didn't know the day or hour. Only God did. (Mt 24:36)
Cannot look at God and still live. (Ex 33:20)
No man has ever seen God; (1 John 4:12)
Jesus has the same God as we do. (Mt 27:46)
No one has seen the Father. (John 6:46)
Jesus said he was the start of God's creations. (Rev 3:14)
Yes, Jesus was created by God (Col 1:15)
God is not a three headed freak, but only ONE God. (Deut 6:4)
God is not a three headed freak, but only ONE God. (Mr 12:29)
Only God is good. (Mr 10:18)
Jesus said must worship and serve ONLY God. (Mt 4:10)
In Heaven, God is STILL the HEAD of Jesus. (1 Cor 11:3)
Jesus' own angel said to "Worship God", not Jesus (Rev 19:10)

    The New Testament everywhere confirms:
u *Eternal*: oBefore Abraham was, I amo (John 8:58).

    Yes he existed before Abraham.

u *Creator*: oBy him all things were createdo (Colossians 1:16).

Not "By him", but THROUGH HIM.

u *Nature*: oIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodilyo
    (Colossians 2:9).

Yes, Jesus was divine. Just not Jehovah.

u *Titles*: oOur great God and Savior Jesus Christo (Titus 2:13; Hebrews >1:8).

Bad translation. See KJV of those Scriptures.

    u *Worship*: Thomas: oMy Lord and my God!o (John 20:28);

Holy Cow! Jeepers Creepers! Oh my God!

    oAt the name of
Jesus every knee should bowo (Philippians 2:10u11).

Yes, but not worshipped. Jesus said to worship ONLY God.

    9. And saith unto him, All these things will I give thee, if thou
wilt fall down and worship me.
    10. Then saith Jesus unto him, Get thee hence, Satan: for it is
written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou
    serve.

Step by step: Eternal ? Creator ? Divine Nature ? Divine Titles ? Divine >Worship.
This united testimony of Scripture leaves no room for Jesus as oa god.o
    He is fully God.

Only in you mind. See my comments above on those.

HereAs a direct answer against the NWT rendering, James:

The NWT reads: oIn the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with
God, and the Word was a godo (John 1:1). But verses 2u3 immediately
    refute that interpretation:

u oHe was in the beginning with God.

That shows two people present. Not a God suffering from split
    Personalities.

"All things were made through him,
and without him was not anything made that was madeo (John 1:2u3, ESV).

If the Word were oa god,o then He would be one of the othings that were >made.o But John closes that loophole: nothing made was made without Him.
If He made everything, He cannot be a creature.

Negatrons. We don't interpret it that way. Jesus (Word) was the start
    of God's creations.

If Jesus himself created all things, then Mark lied:

    - New King James
Mark 10:6 "But from the beginning of the creation, God `made them
    male and female.'

God created them THROUGH Jesus. Just exactly how that was, we don't
    know.

    The rest of Scripture agrees:
u *Eternal* u oBefore Abraham was, I amo (John 8:58).
u *Creator* u oBy him all things were createda all things were created >through him and for himo (Colossians 1:16).
u *Nature* u oIn him the whole fullness of deity dwells bodilyo
    (Colossians 2:9).
    u *Titles* u oOur great God and Savior Jesus Christo (Titus 2:13;
    Hebrews 1:8).
u *Worship* u Thomas confessed, oMy Lord and my God!o (John 20:28), and
Paul says every knee will bow to Him (Philippians 2:10u11).

See my comments above on all of them.

The NWTAs oa godo contradicts the context of John 1:3 and the unanimous
NT witness. The Word is eternal, uncreated, and fully God.

But then we have Paul stating that Jesus in Heaven was in subjection
    to God.

    Here is a point-by-point rebuttal of each so-called ocontradiction,o
James. Every one of them collapses under ScriptureAs own explanation.

*Claimed Contradiction #1: Proverbs 8:30 u oI was beside him.o*
James argues: If the Word was God, He couldnAt be beside God.

I don't recall naming that Scripture.

*Answer:* Proverbs 8 is poetry personifying wisdom, not a literal
    biography of the SonAs obeginning.o

True it is wisdom personified, but also encompasses some info on the
    Son. V22 for instance:

    -- American Standard
Proverbs 8:22 Jehovah possessed me in the beginning of his way,
    Before his works of old.

GOD ALWAYS HAD WISDOM, THUS NO BEGINNING. But His Son had a beginning.
    (Col 1:15)

    The New Testament later applies
wisdom language to Christ (1 Corinthians 1:24), but that doesnAt mean >Proverbs teaches He was created. John 1:1 settles the matter: the Word
*was with* God (distinction of persons) and *was God* (unity of nature).

Jesus knew he was "a god" but not almighty God.

*Claimed Contradiction #2: Proverbs 8:22 u oThe LORD possessed me in the >beginning of his way.o*
James argues: The Word had a beginning.
*Answer:* The Hebrew verb *qanah* can mean opossess,o oestablish,o or
obring forth.o In context, it speaks of wisdomAs role in creation, not
the Son being made. If you force this as creation, then GodAs own wisdom
    had a beginningu

See above the discussion of Prov 8:22.

which is absurd. Christ as GodAs eternal Word is
    uncreated (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).

Yet when the Devil tempted Jesus, he said to worship ONLY God. (see
    above)

*Claimed Contradiction #3: Psalm 90:2 u God is ofrom everlasting to >everlasting.o*
James argues: God never died, but Jesus did, so He canAt be God.
    *Answer:* In His humanity, Jesus truly died (Hebrews 2:9). In His divine >nature, He is eternal and unchangeable (Hebrews 13:8). The incarnation >united full deity with full humanity. God did not cease to exist;
rather, the Son offered up His human life for our redemption.

When the Psalmist wrote that, Jesus had not come here yet. So he meant
God ALWAYS lived. But Jesus did die as a man and as divine.
Ecclesiastes says at death there are no more thoughts. That means one
ceases to exist. And the same happened to Jesus for those 3 days. Thus
    he can't be God.

*Claimed Contradiction #4: Luke 18:19 u oNo one is good but One, that
    is, God.o*
James argues: Jesus denied being God.
*Answer:* JesusA point was to confront the manAs shallow view of ogood.o
If only God is good, and Jesus is good, then the implication is that
Jesus is God. He was drawing the man to recognize His true identity, not >denying it.

Jesus as a created being was not equal to God. (1 Cor 11:3)
Thus according to Jesus, God's goodness surpasses all others,
    including Jesus'
    .

*Claimed Contradiction #5: Matthew 24:36 u oNor the Son, but the Father >only.o*

James argues: If Jesus is God, He would know everything.
*Answer:* In His humanity, the Son voluntarily accepted limits
(Philippians 2:6u7). Yet as God He knows all things (John 16:30; 21:17). >This isnAt contradiction but the mystery of the incarnation: one Person
with both divine omniscience and real human limitation.

I need to make this contradiction 5.5. You can't be omniscient (know
everything all the time) AND have knowledge limitations too. That is a contradiction.

*Claimed Contradiction #6: 1 John 4:12 u oNo one has seen God at any time.o*

James argues: People saw Jesus, so He canAt be God.
*Answer:* No one has seen the Father in His essence (John 6:46). But
John 1:18 explains: oThe only God, who is at the FatherAs side, he has
made him known.o Seeing Jesus is seeing the perfect revelation of God
    (John 14:9).

Sorry, but you can't have it both ways. Either he is God, or he is a
god. If being human and God, then people saw God, but still lived.

*Claimed Contradiction #7: John 6:46 u oNot that anyone has seen the
Father, except he who is from God.o*

James argues: Therefore when Jesus said, oHe who has seen me has seen
the Father,o He meant attributes only, not deity.
*Answer:* Jesus doesnAt say He merely shows GodAs attributes. He says He >perfectly reveals the Father because He and the Father are one (John
    10:30).

    Yes, one in personality.

His visible humanity disclosed the invisible God, which no mere
    creature could do.

    *Summary:*

Not one of these texts contradicts John 1:1. Each one is harmonized in
    the doctrine of the incarnation:

    Not at all.

u Distinction of persons (the Word was with God).

Yes, that is showing 2 persons present. The verse also says the word
had a beginning, thus can't be God.

u Unity of essence (the Word was God).

    Unity of personalities.

u True humanity assumed by the eternal Son, so that He could die, while >remaining eternally God.

Contradiction again. Either he was human or God. Not both.

The supposed ocontradictionso come only from forcing texts out of
context. The Scriptures, read together, are consistent: Jesus Christ is
the eternal Word, Creator, and true God.

Now my turn. Jesus was the Word, assisted God in the creations, and in
Heaven is in subjection to God. (1 Cor 11:3)

You simply repeat the same dumb, refuted lies over and over again.

You are stacking verse against verse as if Scripture contradicts itself,
but that comes from misreading. The same Word that says the head of
Christ is God (1 Corinthians 11:3) also calls the Son eternal, Creator,
and God Himself. Both truths stand together. LetrCOs walk through the very passages you raise:

    1. John 1:1rCo3 rCo The Word was in the beginning, with God, and was God.
John immediately explains: rCLAll things were made through him, and
without him was not any thing made that was made.rCY If the Word Himself
were created, He would belong to rCLthings made.rCY But John closes that
door: nothing came into being apart from Him. That means He cannot be a creature.

    2. Colossians 1:15rCo16 rCo You point to rCLfirstborn of all creationrCY as if that means Jesus was created. But rCLfirstbornrCY in Scripture often refers
to rank and inheritance, not origin (Psalm 89:27, rCLI will make him the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earthrCY). Paul immediately explains what he means: rCLby him all things were created.rCY If He created all things, He cannot be one of the created things. Paul doubles down:
rCLHe is before all things, and in him all things hold togetherrCY
(Colossians 1:17). That is eternal preexistence and sustaining power rCo attributes of God alone.

    3. John 17:5 rCo Jesus prays, rCLGlorify merCawith the glory I had with you before the world existed.rCY That is not the language of a creature who
began in time. That is shared glory from before creation rCo and Isaiah
42:8 says God does not share His glory with another. Yet the Son shares
it, because He is of the same divine essence.

    4. Hebrews 1:8rCo10 rCo The Father Himself says to the Son: rCLYour throne, O God, is forever and everrCY and applies Psalm 102 rCo a Psalm addressed to Yahweh, the eternal Creator rCo to the Son: rCLYou, Lord, laid the
foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work
of your hands.rCY The inspired writer has no problem calling the Son both rCLGodrCY and rCLLordrCY in the fullest sense.

    5. John 20:28 rCo When Thomas says, rCLMy Lord and my God,rCY this is no mere exclamation. John records it as the climactic confession of the Gospel,
and Jesus blesses his faith instead of correcting him. The Spirit
inspired it to show us the right response to the risen Christ.

    6. Revelation 22:13 rCo The Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the Beginning and the End. In Isaiah 44:6, Yahweh alone claims that title.
In Revelation, Jesus speaks it of Himself. If He is not eternal God,
then He has taken the name of Yahweh in vain rCo which Scripture never allows.

    7. 1 Corinthians 11:3 rCo The SonrCOs submission to the Father does not deny His deity. It shows the order within the Godhead. Even in eternity, the
Son shares the divine essence while relating to the Father as Son.
Distinction of persons does not cancel unity of nature.

James, when you put all these verses together, the conclusion is
    inescapable:
rCo The Son was with God, yet was God (John 1:1).
rCo The Son made all things (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).
rCo The Son is eternal, sharing glory with the Father before the world
    (John 17:5).
rCo The Son is called God directly (Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13).
rCo The Son receives worship due to God alone (Philippians 2:10rCo11; Revelation 5:13rCo14).

This is not a later invention but the consistent witness of Scripture.
To deny it is to set one passage against another, when the Spirit has
woven them together into one voice: Jesus Christ is eternal, Creator,
    and true God.
    --
Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (rCa), and God
    raised Him from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death
satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John
2:1-2). This means God can now remain just, while forgiving you of your
sins, and saving you from eternal damnation.

On the basis of Christ's death and resurrection for our sins, call on
the name of the Lord to save you: "For 'everyone who calls on the name
of the Lord will be saved'" (Romans 10:13, ESV).

Christ is God (1 Corinthians 11:3) also calls the Son eternal, Creator,
and God Himself. Both truths stand together. LetAs walk through the very >passages you raise:

By all means. And let's not twist the Scriptures.

    1. John 1:1u3 u The Word was in the beginning, with God, and was God.
John immediately explains: oAll things were made through him, and
without him was not any thing made that was made.o If the Word Himself
were created, He would belong to othings made.o But John closes that
door: nothing came into being apart from Him. That means He cannot be a >creature.

Guess who is also repeating himself over and over. Repetition of Bible Scriptures also occurs in the Bible itself. Not only quotations but
    the 4 gospels also.

We are past the Word, John now tells us that nothing came into
existence apart from him. And notice that everything was made THROUGH
him. There is no need to say it that way if the Word created
    everything.

So the Bible teaches us that the Word was created (Col 1:15) by God,
and all the rest was created by God "through" Jesus. (Gen 1:1; John
    1:3)

    2. Colossians 1:15u16 u You point to ofirstborn of all creationo as if
that means Jesus was created. But ofirstborno in Scripture often refers
to rank and inheritance, not origin (Psalm 89:27, oI will make him the >firstborn, the highest of the kings of the eartho). Paul immediately >explains what he means: oby him all things were created.o If He created
all things, He cannot be one of the created things.

Paul is past the statement that Jesus was the firstborn etc. Now he
    says what Jesus did next.

    Paul doubles down:
oHe is before all things, and in him all things hold togethero
(Colossians 1:17). That is eternal preexistence and sustaining power u >attributes of God alone.

It doesn't say Jesus always existed. It just says he will from then on
live eternally. With God, it says He always lived. (Ps 90:2) Thus
since Jesus died, he can't be God.

Also walk down to verse 19:

    -- King James
Colossians 1:19 For it pleased the Father that in him should all
    fulness dwell;

So Paul didn't say it pleased Jesus with that fullness, but pleased
the father. (It didn't say it also pleased the Holy Spirit, your third
element in that 4th century Trinity)

    3. John 17:5 u Jesus prays, oGlorify meawith the glory I had with you
before the world existed.o That is not the language of a creature who
began in time. That is shared glory from before creation u

Of course, when he was created he was a powerful person. He had to
"empty" himself to become human. When a human, he looked forward to
    getting those powers back again.

    and Isaiah
42:8 says God does not share His glory with another. Yet the Son shares
it, because He is of the same divine essence.

First of all, most Bibles are a bad translation there, THAT MAKES GOD
A LIAR. For example, your preferred translation: ESV of Isa 42:8,

"I am the Lord; that is my name; my glory I give to no other, nor my
    praise to carved idols."

They cut out God's name and replaced with a title "Lord".
That makes God a total liar. I guess that made them happy, since they
had total control on what to translate. Did that make you happy too?

    Notice this translation:

    - American Standard
Isaiah 42:8 I am Jehovah, that is my name; and my glory will I not
give to another, neither my praise unto graven images.

God does not share His glory with false gods or various false images.

    4. Hebrews 1:8u10 u The Father Himself says to the Son: oYour throne, O
    God, is forever and evero

But there is another correct translation that it can be: It's the one
in brackets. (I didn't add the brackets)

Thus, "God is your throne" is another correct translation. And that is
    what the NWT uses.

and applies Psalm 102 u a Psalm addressed to
Yahweh, the eternal Creator u to the Son: oYou, Lord, laid the
foundation of the earth in the beginning, and the heavens are the work
of your hands.o The inspired writer has no problem calling the Son both >oGodo and oLordo in the fullest sense.

You are being mislead by your translators. They decided to censor out
God's name here for you. (shame on them) Here is a more accurate
    translation. Ps 102:21-25:

"21. That men may declare the name of Jehovah in Zion, And his praise
    in Jerusalem;
    22. When the peoples are gathered together, And the kingdoms, to
    serve Jehovah.
    23. He weakened my strength in the way; He shortened my days.
    24. I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: Thy
    years are throughout all generations.
    25. Of old didst thou lay the foundation of the earth; And the
heavens are the work of thy hands." (ASV)

So they are speaking of Jehovah not Jesus.

    5. John 20:28 u When Thomas says, oMy Lord and my God,o this is no mere >exclamation. John records it as the climactic confession of the Gospel,
and Jesus blesses his faith instead of correcting him.

"Holy Cow!", Jesus wouldn't correct an exclamation.
And that is what Thomas did. The translators put a "!" at the end,
showing it was said because of excitement and and unbelief.

That account also shows that Jesus' disciples DID NOT recognise him
until he showed them his wounds. Thus Jesus used a body that the
    disciples never seen before.

The Bible says that Jesus was put to death in the flesh, but raised a
spirit being.(1 Pet 3:18) Jesus gave his earthly body and life as the
ransom. So he had to materialize a body to be seen by men.

    The Spirit
inspired it to show us the right response to the risen Christ.

    6. Revelation 22:13 u The Alpha and Omega, the First and the Last, the >Beginning and the End.

That is referring to Jehovah God. He is the first God to exist, and is
the last one to be God.

But one about vs 12? Doesn't that apply only to Jesus? Not
necessarily. There are Bible verses that speak of God as "coming". For
    example:

    - American Standard
Isaiah 26:21 For, behold, Jehovah cometh forth out of his place to
punish the inhabitants of the earth for their iniquity: the earth also
shall disclose her blood, and shall no more cover her slain.

In Isaiah 44:6, Yahweh alone claims that title.
In Revelation, Jesus speaks it of Himself. If He is not eternal God,
then He has taken the name of Yahweh in vain u which Scripture never allows.

See directly above where God is told as "cometh".

    7. 1 Corinthians 11:3 u The SonAs submission to the Father does not deny
    His deity.

    So you say.

It shows the order within the Godhead. Even in eternity, the
Son shares the divine essence while relating to the Father as Son. >Distinction of persons does not cancel unity of nature.

You have some problems here. The Athanasian Creed says that God and
Jesus are "coequal". Then God cannot be Jesus' superior, yet that is
    what Paul said.

James, when you put all these verses together, the conclusion is >inescapable:
u The Son was with God,

    That shows two people present.

    yet was God (John 1:1).

Actrually "a god" based on the Greek rule there, which most
    translators ignore.

u The Son made all things (John 1:3; Colossians 1:16).

Actually, after Jesus was created, God created all things THROUGH the
    Son.

u The Son is eternal, sharing glory with the Father before the world
    (John 17:5).

In this case, eternal means AFTER he was created, he will live
forever. So will the apostle Paul, and the apostles themselves, and
all those belonging to the 144,000.

u The Son is called God directly (Hebrews 1:8; Titus 2:13).

As shown above, Heb 1:8 can be rendered "God is your throne"

Titus 2:13 is a translation problem. It should say:
"the Great God and of our savior, Jesus Christ.

    u The Son receives worship due to God alone (Philippians 2:10u11;
    Revelation 5:13u14).

Christians should never worship a creation of God. That is idolatry.

Vs 14. They worshipped God, not Jesus.

This is not a later invention but the consistent witness of Scripture.
To deny it is to set one passage against another, when the Spirit has
woven them together into one voice: Jesus Christ is eternal, Creator,
    and true God.

Jesus was the FIRST of God's creations, all others were created
"through" Jesus. Jesus identified himself as "God's Son", not God.

The Angel Gabrial annouced to Mary that she was to conceive the "Son
    of God", not God.

And when the general believers of the populace talked about Jesus,
they say he was the "Son of God", not God

There are 80 hits in the NT for "Son of God". The mistranslation of
John 1:1 has thrown a lot of people off. The 4th century Trinity
    doctrine adds more confusion.

by my name the Lord I did not make myself known to them." (ESV)

Lord is a title not a name. That just made God a liar. Those
translators should be ashamed of themselves. Here is what it should
    be:

Exodus 6:3 "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob,
by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to

God never died and has been alive from
    "everlasting to everlasting." Contradiction

This second theos could also be translated 'divine' as the
construction indicates "a qualitative sense for theos"."

"In a 1973 Journal of Biblical Literature article, Philip B. Harner,
Professor Emeritus of Religion at Heidelberg College, claimed that the
traditional translation of John 1:1c ("and the Word was God") is
incorrect. He endorses the New English Bible translation of John 1:1c,
"and what God was, the Word was."[50] However, Harner's claim has been
    criticized.[51] Harner says:"

Compare Gen 41:51-52 with +**Jer 31:9, *Exo 4:22, superiority of position, rank, priority. Deu 21:15-17, +**Psa 89:20; +**Psa 89:27, Consider AbrahamrCOs sons: Ishmael was the firstborn, but Isaac was

Manasseh was firstborn, but the blessing was given to Ephraim, Gen 48:14, If "firstborn" invariably means "born first," then how can Israel (Exo 4:22), David (Psa 89:27), and Ephraim (+**Jer 31:9), and Christ (Rom 8:29, Col 1:15; Col 1:18, Heb 1:6, Rev 1:5) all be called by God "my firstborn"? Therefore, use of the term firstborn in reference to Christ says nothing concerning his origin, but declares his position, rank, and office. Note the use of "firstborn" in Job 18:13, John Daille notes that we are to understand "rCaeldest or first born, to signify the head, the lord, and the master. We say, therefore, that it is in this sense we must understand the apostlerCOs words, Christ rCOis the first-born of every creature,rCO that is, the Master and Lord of them; which in no way implies that he himself is a creature; lords not being always of
the same extraction and lineage with their subjects, but most frequently of another very different. And as it would be ridiculous reasoning to conclude that he who has the dominion of death is death itself, under the colour that Job terms him, rCOthe first-born of death;rCO so is it most impertinent arguing to infer that the Lord is a creature, because the apostle says here, that he rCOis the first-born of every creaturerCO" (An Exposition of Colossians, p. 102). The term first-born does not imply that Christ was a created being. It has been interpreted as used in the absolute sense,
becoming a recognized title of Messiah; thus, His preeminence and sovereignty (LNT, fn h). Col 1:17-18,

of every creature. or, over all creation. That Christ is thefirstborn of
every creature does not require that Christ himself be a creature, because firstborn has reference not to origin but to rank orposition. Dr. John MacArthur notes here that "when the rCOfirstbornrCO is one of a class, the class is in the plural form (cf. Col 1:18; Rom 8:29), but rCOcreation,rCO the class here, is in a singular form" (Study Bible, p. 1833).

You have been shown these truths countless times and truth they remain, this that I quoted ties it all up, together to show you the errors of your
parroted narrative. A narrative parroted that is as hollow to you as it is to a Parrot.

    It IS
speaking of the beginning direct reference to the creation of this world and
all that existed in it before the fall of Adam into in. Why try to distort and reshape the narrative of Gods word as given to man?

Yes, why do others do that?

Why the comment? Trying to brush off the load of deceit onto others?

All your distortions are correctly described here. This is from the NKJV version and the words that are capitalized are quotes from the OT from various books such as Psalms, Isaiah, etc.

So read this very carefully, and may the LORD open your eyes to see the irrefutable truth of God,

I bounce that statement back to you. You are asking me to deny Bible
truths. I just can't do it. I have researched my beliefs thoroughly,
and are at one with me.

My statement was from my heart, with prayer to the Almighty God, which you immediately rejected out of hand, and as to my prayer, I pray that for myself sometimes multiply times per day, with faith in God that he will continue to do a work within me.

You were fully honest in your belief being the priority in your life. That is the way of all people who follow religions, whether they be atheists, muslim, hindu, RC. Mormon, hard core baptist type people, etc. Etc. And here is a biblical example of that to which Jesus addressed in Matt 23.

Also, to the Pharisees he said,

Jhn 8:43 Why do ye not understand my speech? evenbecause ye cannot hear my word.

Jhn 8:44 Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye
will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.

Jhn 8:45 And because I tell youthe truth, ye believe me not.

Jhn 8:46 Which of you convinceth me of sin? And if I say the truth, why do ye not believe me?

Jhn 8:47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear themnot, because ye are not of God.

Like the pharisees of old, so do you and all of your cult.

Your belief is created by your narrative/dogma/creeds.

You translate the Word of God just as Satan did to Jesus while he was
tempting him at his weakest state.

Recall, God's adversary is trying to make God a liar. Here is just one example of many. Grab your Bible and look up Ex 6:3. It should read:

"I appeared to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, as God Almighty, but

So sorry, you are talking to the wrong person here, take this up with your AI buddy, Rosie.
Shame this comment, again you show total disrespect to those you reply to by throwing them all into the same box and never respecting the individual. This shows me also that you paid little to no attention to the words I wrote above focusing solely on your personal agenda, with no respect to God or Man.

Lord is a title not a name. That just made God a liar. Those
translators should be ashamed of themselves. Here is what it should

Exodus 6:3 "And I appeared unto Abraham, unto Isaac, and unto Jacob,
by the name of God Almighty, but by my name JEHOVAH was I not known to
    them."

Odd that, not only is yehovah misspelled, but you ignored that completely. On top of that the actual Hebrew writing was YHWH and I bring this to your attention for the hypocrisy you live in as you make such a big deal out of it to favor the NWT which is full of errors in this regard as well.

As to the ESV, it has many such errors in its translations, especially in the more recent versions. Which is why I almost never quote from it, and it is on the bottom of the pile of Bibles I would use. (The NWT and other similar such bibles are never in my line of sight)

This is speaking of Jesus the moment he was created. (Col 1:15)

Colossians 1:15 does not teach that Jesus was created. The verse says:

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" (Colossians 1:15, ESV).

The word "firstborn" (Greek: *pr+itotokos*) does not mean "first
created." Scripture distinguishes between *firstborn* (*pr+itotokos*) and *first created* (*pr+itoktistos*). Paul could have used *pr+itoktistos* if
he intended to say Christ was created, but he did not. Instead,
*firstborn* carries the meaning of rank, preeminence, and inheritance
    rights.

    For example:

    * Israel is called God's "firstborn son" (Exodus 4:22), though other
    nations existed before them.
    * David is called "the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth" (Psalm 89:27), though he was the youngest son in his family.

Paul immediately explains what he means by "firstborn":

"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authoritiesrCoall
things were created through him and for him" (Colossians 1:16, ESV).

If Jesus were created, then He could not be the Creator of "all things."
Yet Paul explicitly states that *all* things were created through Him
and for Him. John affirms the same truth:

"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing
made that was made" (John 1:3, ESV).

This makes an airtight case: if He created all that was ever created, He Himself cannot belong in the category of "created." Instead, He belongs
in the category of the eternal Creator.
    --
Have you heard the good news Christ died for our sins (rCa), and God
    raised Him from the dead?

That Christ died for our sins shows we're sinners who deserve the death penalty. That God raised Him from the dead shows Christ's death
satisfied God's righteous demands against our sin (Romans 3:25; 1 John

This is speaking of Jesus the moment he was created. (Col 1:15)

Colossians 1:15 does not teach that Jesus was created. The verse says:

"He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation" >(Colossians 1:15, ESV).

The word "firstborn" (Greek: *pr?totokos*) does not mean "first
created." Scripture distinguishes between *firstborn* (*pr?totokos*) and >*first created* (*pr?toktistos*). Paul could have used *pr?toktistos* if
he intended to say Christ was created, but he did not. Instead,
*firstborn* carries the meaning of rank, preeminence, and inheritance >rights.

    For example:

    * Israel is called God's "firstborn son" (Exodus 4:22), though other
    nations existed before them.
    * David is called "the firstborn, the highest of the kings of the earth" >(Psalm 89:27), though he was the youngest son in his family.

Paul immediately explains what he means by "firstborn":

"For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and >invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authoritiesuall
things were created through him and for him" (Colossians 1:16, ESV).

If Jesus were created, then He could not be the Creator of "all things."
Yet Paul explicitly states that *all* things were created through Him
and for Him. John affirms the same truth:

"All things were made through him, and without him was not any thing
made that was made" (John 1:3, ESV).

This makes an airtight case: if He created all that was ever created, He >Himself cannot belong in the category of "created." Instead, He belongs
in the category of the eternal Creator.

Yes, Jesus helped in some way with creation, but it was God who did
the creating, THROUGH Jesus. And God did it for Jesus. God was always
    the Creator:

    -- King James
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth.

It doesn't say "Jesus" or the "Word" did the creating, but GOD. It's a
    plain and simple Scripture.

As for Col 1:15, look closely at the CONTEXT. It is things CREATED.
And it lists Jesus as the first. It's another plain and simple
Scripture. For those who twist it, they will have to answer to God.
But hopefully they will soon accept Bible truth. (John 4:23,24)

Yes, I would probably believe her, but not go along with it. Adultery

What a self-evidently stupid lie and hermeneutic that is. Everything one believes at any given point in time is either true or it is not true. If
it's not true, then it is false. You don't "upgrade" truth. You either
believe the truth or you believe a falsehood. When "JW's" change their beliefs, the only possible options are that they were WRONG before
changing their beliefs, WRONG after changing their beliefs, or WRONG
before and after changing their beliefs. If you can't accept that basic reality, you're too handed over to self-deceit to carry on a
    conversation with.

Just like Satan did to Jesus.

If your JW wife were to commit adultery with another man, but tell you the whole time she did it, she was thinking of you, and doing with him what she did for you, and so that was her rCOtruthrCO according the the JW dogma of what truth is, would you accept that as truth also and go along with if for the foreseeable future, when she then transfer that truth for a rCOnewerrCO truth?

Yes, I would probably believe her, but not go along with it. Adultery
    is a sin. (James 2:11)

Yet her truth was that she was doing it with you. Therefore not adultery.

The woman would have been following all the principles of JW Dogma.
You, believing her, would have to go along with her on this, until she can
    see it otherwise.
That is your argument for believing rCLnew truthsrCY yet never admitting that your previous rCLtruthsrCY were lies and deceitful.

As Proverbs says about Bible truth:

    -- King James
Proverbs 4:18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that
shineth more and more unto the perfect day.

That light is light. Bright or dim it is the same light. The source changes not. The light changes not.
It was also speaking of the path of the Just. Who amongst the JW is 'JustrCO?

A light that starts out dim, but keeps getting brighter and brighter,
shows a change taking place. And that is what the JW organization
    does.

What change? It, as the scripture said was a Shining Light. Not a Dim one.
