my family is not religious, god has not been a component of my
thought process as such.. but if i had to put a date when i
understood, it was about when i was in 4th grade, almost 5th.

i guess for people who have been raised religious, something
either needs to happen or some switch flips that makes it.. evident?

it was surprising how many around me believed, or pretended to.
my guess is most pepole pretend to believe in god to fit in.

As an atheist, I don't feel comfortable saying, "God does not exist." I
would say that I first really started doubting the existence of God in
middle school, and eventually, for me, disbelief became stronger than
    belief in high school.
