Sunday's poem on Penny's Poetry Blog:
Suspending Winter Willingly in Disbelief, by Cathleen Harvea Guthrie

Spring whistled a happy tune ... summer sang.
Autumn's song being sung and winter's song
Yet to come ... a cold hard song ... far too long

Another great obscure poet back in the spotlight, excellent work, George.

I'm glad you liked that one. Guthrie's a poet I've known for a couple of years. She used to have one of the more active poetry groups on facebook; unfortuntely, the spam on facebook caused her to shut it down a couple of years ago. (She tried making the group private, but that meant only that she spent her time wading through all the spam rather than doing what she wanted, reading and writing poetry.)

I do like the poem myself. She's moving in a Frostian direction, writing about her own domestic experiences to talk about the general human condition.

    Agreed, excellent poetry.

These three lines are enough for experienced readers to swipe left.

Line two is missing a verb: Autumn's song IS being sung. (Or Autumn's song's... if there's actually a meter hiding in there).

Overall, there are just too many "songs" ("sang" and "sung" inclusive) happening there. The first line is okay, but by the end of the second, it's just too much.

It's too bad that you use these posts as click-bait for your blaaarg, Dunce. This poem might get better in lines 4-?, but since only the first three lines appear, even the inexperienced readers aren't going to give the poem a chance.
