In the above-posted photograph, Ginsberg's finger appears to be either touching, or inserted in, his nostril.
Ginsberg has stated that he picks his nose on numerous occasions.

I think Allen Ginsberg, like Jerry Seinfeld, was trying to be funny, there.

That's correct.
Of course it's correct, Donkey. I said it.
And it's equally correct that Ginsberg's improvisation is not directed at the original song/singers, but at Ginsberg himself (describing his writing habits).
The most one can argue is that the nose-picking was included solely for comedic effect.
However, when taken in conjunction with the photo of him picking his nose, and the eye witness account of him deliberately picking to avoid having to talk to people who annoyed him, leads one to believe that there was a good deal of honest self-revelation behind the joke.

In Ginsberg's case, it's an established fact.
We have a combination of three different types of evidence:
1 ) A photograph in which he appears to be inserting the tip of his index finger into his nostril. At very least, the tip of his pointing finger is only a fraction of an inch below his nostril.
2 ) We have an eyewitness account from a man who knew him personally:
"Worked on a project with Alan. He had this thing, if it were someone he really didn't want to talk to, he'd pick his nose furiously, repeatedly, until they walked away..." -- Jay Michael
3 ) We have Ginsberg's own poetry:
"Pick your
nose
...
to show
the populace"
-- Allen Ginsberg
None of these examples, when taken individually, would constitute irrefutable evidence, however, when taken in conjunction with one another, they do not leave room for one to have a *reasonable* doubt.
So, Case Closed on Ginsberg.
In your case, we only have a photograph wherein you are staring intently (with a somewhat shocked and repulsed expression) at some tiny substance or object pinched between the tips of your thumb and middle finger. The object of your attention is too small to see in the photograph, but the most obvious candidates are a strange looking booger, and an unfamiliar type of insect.
This photograph alone would not be accepted as evidence.
However, when the photograph is considered along with your response to the speculation regarding it, it would.
You have raised no objections to its being an insect (a flea, louse, tick, bedbug, etc.), which IMO would be the more embarrassing option of the two. Otoh, you have spent the past several months vociferously denying that it was a pick.
This is a case in which the "Lady's" excessive protestations lead one to conclude that there's something she's trying to hide.

First off, "accusations" is a strong word, Drama Queen.
Ginsberg is merely being "accused" of picking his nose. And, based on the circumstantial evidence, it was most likely not something he was ashamed of.
Thus far, we have presented photographic evidence, eye-witness testimony, and an admission from Ginsberg (which may or may not have been serious).
When taken together, three pieces of circumstantial evidence can present a compelling case.
And, since this isn't a "crime" for which he would receive capital punishment, or even imprisonment, but merely an attempt to establish whether he was, or was not, a picker, we can allow for a reasonable doubt -- so long as the preponderance of evidence points to his having picked.
So, barring any future evidence to the contrary, we may safely conclude that Ginsberg picked his nose.
This is the conclusion that Dunce's "trusted source" has drawn, and expressed, as well -- and for exactly the same reason. To wit: based on the available evidence, there is a good deal of evidence to support his having picked... and no evidence to support his having abstained.
