    I have 3 callsigns (M6, 2E0 and M0) and I need to take a decision
whether to keep all of the 3 or not. In the meantime, I believe (but I
could be wrong) that, at one point, Ofcom recommended consolidating
    multiple callsigns into one.

I am thing of emailing Ofcom, who usually are very kind in answering,
and asking them this very question, but, before, doing that, I wonder
if any of you have already done that and what was their reply.

    Thanks.

As {what is still commonly referred to as) a Class-A licence holder of
over 64 years, I have never had to make this kind of decision.

However, AIUI, you were never allowed to hold more than one personal
callsign of the same class, and (as you say) they are now restricting
you to only one single callsign. Presumably most will choose the highest
class they have, and relinquish any lower classes they've hung onto.

However, if you choose to keep a lower class, then I'm pretty certain
you will then have to operate under the terms of the licence for that
class (eg, if you gave up a Full for a Foundation, you would not be
allowed to legally run 1kW with a Foundation callsign). [Do I hear the
distant sound of certain existing Foundation licensees chuckling.]

Of course, an alternative would be for you to scour the lists of SK
callsigns, and do a bit of grave robbing - or find one that has simply
been abandoned - then trade in what you presently have, and acquire
something that really tickles you fancy.

Until Ofcom's licensing checks broke some time ago and then this did
    happen on occasion.

Wasn't it FMF that said he's got 2 full calls and will eventually have
    to choose one?

I believe the changes are at some point in the future you will only be
able to have one licence for yourself and hence one personal callsign.
Also you wont have a choice out of which of your FL, IL or full licences
you keep as the FL and IL will be cancelled automatically leaving you
    with just the full.

For many assorted reasons I have two full licences and so two full
callsigns. I will be expected to pick just one to keep and the other
will go into the pile to be reissued sometime in the future.

It appears that due to development delays in the software back-end for
Ofcom's licensing portal, the 2nd and 3rd phases of the licence changes relating to consolidation of licences and changing call signs after 5
years are now going to be delayed beyond their initial deployment
    estimate.

I think this has been known for a while, but I spotted it here:

a couple of days ago with the help of Firefox's ability to resurrect
    links months later.
