Is about SO2 emissions from manufacturing
And it's insane. We already know how to cope with SO2 pollution - search
on acid-rain.
The article actually knows about this and talks about "enforcing
stringent SO2 pollution control measures for thermal power plants, using
mature technologies like flue-gas desulphurization."
Strangely, they seem to think that nobody is going to bother to ensure
that battery manufacturing plants meet the same emissions standards.
The people responsible for enforcing these regulations monitor the SO2
in the atmosphere, not just in the chimney's of power stations.
And if conifer forests start dying off again, people will be able to
work out why.
