Kristy Swanson, Donald Sutherland, Luke Perry (when
he was still young and cute) - 1992

This was MEANT as a totally trite comedy centering
on the utterly vacuous kinda 'valley girl' sort of
character. Rutger Hauer was under-used, but Paul
    Reubens was pretty good.

Hadn't seen this in a long time, but it finally
came back around in the re-runs.

This movie was redeemed because the editor DID
retain a couple of "boring" scenes, ones with a
    bit more pith.

One was a scene with Perry, where Swanson
discusses vampires frankly and calls Perry
a "man" - a title that impresses him.

The best scene was between Swanson and Sutherland.
The relationship between 'watchers' and 'slayers'
was the subject and the conversation touches
a few deeper veins. It was only about two minutes,
but it greatly improved the film, added some
depth to both characters, who were otherwise mostly
    'cartoon'.

Of course MOST remember the TV series - and Geller
was the perfect choice - but THAT spread out over
YEARS and they could weave a lot more into it.
"The Body" was likely THE best episode but
there were other good ones - with more pith/depth
than average for a "comedy" series.

Such a pity Geller was badly under-used afterwards,
but I guess her residuals were enough for a
lifetime. She has appeared in SOME other stuff,
even now, but that's a LONG time out. She'd have
made a fairly good "grey" corp/govt exec - someone
you sometimes liked, sometimes didn't .........

Funny guy Kelsey Grammer also played some well
    out-of-character roles - sometimes as a horrific
person like in one of those 'Transformer' movies.
    Geller could have as well.
