    . . .

The whole area is just TRASHED.

First Ian a year ago - now Helene and Milton.

Doesn't matter HOW much that real-estate is
SUPPOSED to be worth - nobody remotely in their
right minds would occupy it again. No INSURER
would ever do biz with anybody near there again.

There SHOULD be like a five-mile no-build zone
at minimum. It'd all be a state park/preserve
or whatever. Plant the veggies THICK as a wind
    and water deterrent.

But IS this gonna happen ???

    Probably NOT.

The state and real-estate people WILL promote
"re-building" right on the coast. It's $$$ over
common sense. $$$ wins every damned time.

Meanwhile, Asheville area, almost no electric,
barely any supplies, housing trashed - but NOW
we get an early COLD FRONT ... freezing temps.

They'll have to set fire to the debris, huge
bonfires, all gather 'round and sniff the
    plastic/paint/whatever-contaminated smoke ...
