Personally, WM deal with my trash.
However I've hear much the same from others.
Basically, they want only "clean garbage" and
super-specific, unfollowable, incomprehensible
specifics for anything in the 'recycling' bin.
NO such thing as "clean garbage".
Seems their AIM is to make it impossible ...
so they can rip you off for 'violations'.
Joe Citizen pays TO HAVE HIS GARBAGE TAKEN AWAY.
That's the goal, what he thinks he's paying for.
But corps ... well ... they always screw up the
paradigm, mostly for fun and profit.
Ok ... I know 'garbage' is hard to deal with - too
many regs and details and limitations. People make
a LOT of it, HUGE volumes actually. Even ancient civs
made HUGE mounds of garbage. Can't just burn it all
these days, or bury it all - too much toxic pollution.
Can't really recycle all of it ... CAN'T process/sep/
profit a lot of what's actually out there. Likely
less than HALF your 'recycled' will actually be.
But WHAT is Joe Citizen to DO ??? What is, is. How
to deal with the Trash Mafia ???
As best I can tell, it's class-action lawsuits.
Lots and lots of them. The GOAL is to "take out
the trash" - that's what we PAY for, what we
are led to EXPECT.
I've seen a lot of cases where whatever you've got
doesn't fit The Paradigm - so it winds up in the
local fields or canals. Then 'govt' has to deal
with the mess. It's the passive-resistance fix.
Not great, but apparently getting WORSE.
SOME kind of serious reform is now NEEDED. The
only way I can see is major lawsuits. Hate to
enrich sleazy lawyers, but ......
Spent over an hour recently slicing up yer basic
cardboard shipping boxes - Amazon etc - with a
utility knife. The corp demands LITTLE bits.
STILL nothing good to do with crap like bubble
wrap and styrofoam and such. Load it into my
big CyberTruck and drive it to some site that
will give me shit - sorry. Not Happening.
Problem ... while it's maybe kinda easy if you
are 21, I'm over 65 now. There is considerable
risk of horribly slashing myself in these
exercises. Precision is a gift of youth, but
I'm no youth anymore and injuries do NOT heal
up well anymore either. I'm on meds that will
make it even worse. That's Real Life. Do NOT
have a big CyberTruck either - a 20+ year old
mini car instead. Affordable.
If I do get injured from this, I'm gonna hire
the lawsuit artists, and others should too.
Sue the corp AND the county who hires them.
It's become a sort of war at this point.
All over "garbage".
Clearly BETTER solutions are needed. Plasma-
incinerators and such. They won't DO that unless
FORCED. This seems to be the Reality. Sometimes
capitalism works FOR you, sometimes NOT. However
They are few, We are many, We are where the money
comes from.
Just sayin' ....
Note that there ARE good markets for 'plastic'
waste ... as STRUCTURAL stuff. VERY popular in
Africa now. Building materials, street paving.
Doesn't have to be 'pure', just an 'average mix'.
Go ahead, leave the paper labels attached, the
fibers increase the strength.
I do kinda understand the typical tech issues.
Even cardboard - with the usual plastic/paper
tape, is a HORRIBLE problem for grinding up
the stuff. Will jam up mechanisms. You can
spray in water as a lube - good - but wet
cardboard is also a prob. It's ALL probs.
This seems to be an eternal human issue.
We could HOPE modern thinking/methods can
deal - but how to get corps to USE such
methods ? If it requires an extra nickel
they probably WON'T.
But drafting Joe Average, esp OLDER Joes,
to do Free Labor ain't so good either.
I'm gonna still suggest "plasma incinerators"
at this point ... you burn it - then run the
smoke thru like a 6000-degree plasma "flame"
that will completely decompose all chems.
Not free - but Gets It Done.
