Have not heard much about this on RSS, perhaps because it is Canada and Scotland-centric and nobody much cares.

Denis Law died in January. Surprised I did not see more comment on
that. Only Scot to win the Ballon D'Or (1964), well ahead of L. Suarez
and Amancio in the voting (only other Scots to come close were wee Jimmy Johnstone (3rd in 1967) and Kenny Dalglish (2nd in 1983). Law had a
phenomenal goal scoring record in his prime (eg. 46 goals in 42 games,
all competitions, in 1963-64), but struggled with a lot of injuries from
about 1967 on. Did make an appearance at 1974 world cup. Tied with
Kenny Dalglish as Scotland's all time top goal scorer with 30, but
Dalglish played a lot more games.

Tajon Buchanan moved on loan to Villareal. Probably a much better fit
for him than Inter, and he has been involved in games already

Ismael Koné has moved on loan from Marseille to Rennes. He never really
got back into the swing of things with Marseille after injuries early in
    the season

Canadians in France: Bair with Auxerre, Cornelius with Marseille, Koné
with Rennes, David with Lille. Bombito with Nice. Only 7 Canadians have
ever played in Ligue 1, and five are current.

Denis Law played most of his career in England so you know most
here equate that with being meaningless.

But his death was all over the news here, all day long. Plus,
his funeral was live on Sky News the other day... well, all the
famous guests turning up were. So it didn't go unnoticed IRL.
