THE UEFA realized the best part of the Championsliga is the round of 16,
so they now have two of them! Two for the price of one! What a deal!

The pre round of 16 round of 16 matches are the more boring rd of 16
matches. But still kinda interesting. Look, you can have teams from
the same countries playing each other now, that is so kool.

Brest lovers will be disappointed, PSG lead 3-0 some of our projections
show PSG winning the UCL, but I thibnk we still need more data.

Truth is I dont know who I would consider favourite to win it all. I
would not be betting any house on anyone. Real seems like a good pick,
but they could lose today, I doubt it, but it could happen, maybe Man
City is saving themselves for Europe?

    HT scores
    Man City 1 - 0 Real madrid
This is the match which will finally declare Haalland or Mbappe as the
worlds best striker. At the moment it is Haaland winning, not only has
he scored while Mbappe has missed his chances, Haaland has actually been
in his own box defending as well. It looked to me like the guy who
chested the ball back to haaland for the goal was offside> But the
VARobots said no. Real did end the half more strongly after Man City
were probably the better team for most of the half.

    Sporing 0 - 0 BVB
An away draw would be good for the New Pretenders. Not that it matters,
I would say the New Pretenders are more Pretending than the old
pretenders Iam assuming there is no away goals rule anymore.

    Juventus 1 - 0 PSV

I am pretty sure it is an error in reporting, but we have an American
    listed as scoring for JJ?

Once again Man city snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. The poor
passing in the back lead to the Real winner, prior to that you can blame
the Man City keeper for the Real 2nd. I dont know what has happened to
man City this season, but the control passing they used to have in their
own half has left them. On a positive note, Haaland wins the best
striker showdown vs Mbappe. I dunno but Pep seems to have lost the team.

    Sporting 0 - 3 BVB
You just never know what to expect from the New Pretenders.

Nope, no history being made, the saying stands: " You will never win a
match with Kyle Walker in the line up".

I am usually against cards being given for diving, cus often the
attacker is just trying to avoid being hurt. But this time it was a
good card given to Theo fo a dive and the 10 men of Miulan collapsed vs Feyenoord. Possibly Feyenoord played a bit more with the advantage, but
playing with 10 vs 11, escpecially when you need to win, should not be

    Benfica - Monaco 3-3 (agg. 4-3)
Crazy back and forth in this one, with Benfica getting the final laugh

Surprise result, a lot of people expected Atalanta to go through.
Lookman missed a penalty that could have made the score 2-3 with about
half an hour left. Gasperini's reaction: "he shouldn't have taken the
penalty, he's the worst penalty-taker ever."

Pretty eventful day, UEFA will claim that it's all because of the new
format. More likely, football just being football.

Probably only two games with some suspense today, though the Pretenders
will do their best to blow a 3-0 away lead.

    1st
    Dortmund
    0
    Sporting

Not even the Pretenders can blow this

PSG also take a 3-0 lead home.

    20:00 GMT
    PSV
    Juventus
This could be interesting, JJ leads 2-1 from the first leg and we did
see Rotterdam pull it off yesterday.

    20:00 GMT
    Real Madrid
    Man City
Man city threw away victory last week, losing 3-2. Hard to see them
pull it off in Madrid, but certainly possible.

Apparently Haaland is not starting due to injury, though he is listed on
    the bench.
Mbappe scores early 1-0 and it is over for Man City.

    So now we know

Club Brugge or Dortmound will face Aston Villa or Lille <- could go the distance

Real MAdrir or Bayern Munich to face Leverkusen of AMadrid.

PSV or Feyenoord to take on Arsenal or Inter Milan.

    I rather Arsenal face PSV

    Surprising wipeout for Serie A.

Probably no huge effects on the UEFA ranking,
but the overall 2nd place could be lost as quickly as
it was gained a year ago.
(Next year’s 5th CL spots were already practically
certain for England and Spain beforehand.)

    Ciao,
    Werner
