They add two more match days and the only good game from the extra two
match weeks, will be the PSG vs VfB match next week. Unless other stuff happens.
The two interesting matches today:
Atletico v No longer Pretenders
You just know after typing that, the Pretenders will re appear and lose
7-0. I would say a win for either team probably means they make the top
8. The loser probably makes the Ko 16.
Liverpool vs Lille
Interesting cus I like watching liverpool play and Jonathan David's team
is playing. I think Liverpool are assured a spot in the top 8?
Early matches:
2nd
Atalanta
3
Sturm Graz
0
Atalanta is almost assured a top 8, but not really, it is pretty tight
for the top 8.
2nd
Monaco
1
Aston Villa
0
A win for Monaco and they get in the top 8 for now.
I guess the thrill from this format is which teams make the top 8. But
do they not want the extra two games to make more $?

Looks like about half the teams will be between 10 and 13 points ahead
of the last matchday. I don't know if this is what UEFA had in mind, but
it will be pretty crazy.

Bayern, Arsa and Inter will win tomorrow and it will be the top 8
everyone picked to go through. Well except maybe for Real Madrid.
We all know the Limeys have no knowledge of football, but where do they
get these TNT tv pundits. The chick is probably the only one who comes
close to understanding what wnet on, not that she has a clue. Aand who
is theat weird looking dumb guy, like do they have to give spaces to
mentally challenged people? Is he wearing an Ascot?

Bet the house on Barca to win the EUro cup

It's -21c in la capitale nationale.

Uefa would like that. It would justify their re-arrangement of the
tourney. Liverpool look good as well, plus the baldie Dutch guy is more likeable than Herr Flick when he speaks. I can't see what the new CL arrangement does for the bottom six or seven tho, apart from giving them
the broadcasting money.

We're getting surprisingly close to the 1%

Ciao,
Werner
Add PSG to the list of teams that have come back to beat Man City. I
made the mistake of switching from the PSG to the bayern game in the 2nd half, but at least switched back to see the final 2 goals.
Can we actually talk about Pep guardiola getting fired now?
I think 4 teams are now assured a place in the next round, and about
23 other teams still have a chance of making the play off ( or directly qualifying to the next round).
SerieA fans are probably the happiest fans tonight, Bundesliga fans, not
so much, even if Red Bull finally won a game.

Ciao,

1
FC Liverpool
FC Liverpool 7 7 0 0 >15:2 13 21
2
FC Barcelona
FC Barcelona 7 6 0 1 >26:11 15 18
3
FC Arsenal
FC Arsenal 7 5 1 1 >14:2 12 16
The above three guaranteed to skip the playoff round. Well Arsenal not >mathematically so, but I can't see them losing by 5-6 goals to Girona.
4
Inter Mailand
Inter Mailand 7 5 1 1 >8:1 7 16
Could be caught by teams 9-11, though the goal difference should see
them safe. Home to Monaco is a tricky last match though
52 16:11 5 15
Atletico Madrid
Atletico Madrid 7 5 0
Easy match away to RB Salzburg. Should get a draw at least.
6
AC Mailand
AC Mailand 7 5 0 2 >13:9 4 15
Away to Zagreb. Should get at least a point, but you never know as
Dinamo will be desperate for a win.
71 18:4 14 14
Atalanta Bergamo
Atalanta Bergamo 7 4 2
Away to Barca - a very tall order except that Barca are safely through.
8
Bayer 04 Leverkusen
Bayer 04 Leverkusen 7 4 1 >2 13:7 6 13
Home to Sparta Prague. Should get to 16 points and a bye in the first
round.
9
Aston Villa
Aston Villa 7 4 1 2 >9:4 5 13
Home to Celtic, who have already exceeded expectations. Should get to
16 points and have a reasonable chance at avoiding the playoff round.
10
AS Monaco
AS Monaco 7 4 1 2 >13:10 3 13
Away to Inter. Could in theory catch them or pass them.
11
Feyenoord Rotterdam
Feyenoord Rotterdam 7 4 1 >2 17:15 2 13
Away to Lille.
12
Lille OSC
Lille OSC 7 4 1 2 >11:9 2 13
Home to Feyenoord. Seems quite likely both will miss out on top 8.
13
Stade Brest
Stade Brest 7 4 1 2 >10:8 2 13
Home to Real Madrid. Winning and improving GD quite a challenge.
143 19:11 8 12
Borussia Dortmund
Borussia Dortmund 7 4 0
Goal difference is good, but even a win vs. Shakhtar will probably not
be enough.
153 17:11 6 12
Bayern München
Bayern München 7 4 0
Should pass Dortmund as they are home to Slovan, one of the worst teams
in the competition.
16
Real Madrid
Real Madrid 7 4 0 3 >17:12 5 12
Going to need to beat Brest (beat their breasts ?) and still not a lot
of hope of cracking the top 8.
171 9:5 4 12
Juventus Turin
Juventus Turin 7 3 3
Home to Benfica. Would need a big win and other results in their favour
181 11:10 1 12
Celtic Glasgow
Celtic Glasgow 7 3 3
even a win away to Villa will only help other teams more than themselves
with a GD like that.
Three of these teams will NOT make the KO round
I hope it is PSG among them ! MAn City would also be cool.
19
PSV Eindhoven
PSV Eindhoven 7 3 2 2 >13:10 3 11
Home to Liverpool. Not a forlorn hope as Liverpool don't need to play
their stars, and might rest at least some of them. Maybe I misread, but
I don't even think it matters if you finish number 1 or 2 ?
20
Club Brügge
Club Brügge 7 3 2 2 >6:8 -2 11
Away to Man City. dangerous.
213 14:12 2 10
Benfica Lissabon
Benfica Lissabon 7 3 1
Away to Juve. Big trouble.
223 10:8 2 10
Paris St. Germain
Paris St. Germain 7 3 1
Away to Stuttgart. They should be able to handle that but will they ?
233 12:11 1 10
Sporting Lissabon
Sporting Lissabon 7 3 1
Home to Bologna, who are already out. Might have the easiest fixture of
this group in that sense.
24
VfB Stuttgart
VfB Stuttgart 7 3 1 3 >12:13 -1 10
Home to PSG. Hard task but not impossible. A point may be not enough.
253 15:13 2 8
Manchester City
Manchester City 7 2 2
Need a win vs. Bruges.
26
Dinamo Zagreb
Dinamo Zagreb 7 2 2 3 >10:18 -8 8
Home to AC Milan. A long shot since they need a win and substantially >improved GD.
274 7:13 -6 7
Schachtar Donezk
Schachtar Donezk 7 2 1
Away to Dortmund. With the new manager effect they must be pretty much >doomed.
