Well, well, well, that was a real surprise. FIFA award the 2034
World Cup finals tournament to that powerhouse of international
    football... Saudi Arabia.

    Shocked I am!

Due to the rotation policy it had to be AFC or Oceania and Saudi was the
    only bid.

The rotation policy that *should* have warranted at least a 20 year gap between the Qatar and Saudi-Arabia World Cups.

    Ciao,
    Werner

Looks like another Winter World Cup.

Ahh, yes. Looks like they counted the three “centenary” games in 2030 as South America hosting a World Cup.

Already talks of human rights issues and possible use of migrant labour
to build stadiums, I’m not unsympathetic but Qatar lowered the bar in
that regard and it doesn’t look like getting raised anytime soon.

A well contrived policy of making sure 2030 ticked the relevant
boxes so 2034 had to be between Oceania and the AFC, and then of
course, Oceania only had a few weeks to plan a 'bid'. I wonder
how many PetroDollars made their way into the accounts of the
AFC - and/or its members - during that period?

If anybody thinks Saudi Arabia were the only 'bid' for 2034 by
pure chance, they are being delusional. FIFA had this one well
rigged. No luck was involved for the Saudi's.

Now, now... no need for that sort of cynicism... Uncle Gianni
wouldn't like it. You saw them all clapping at the FIFA
congress. This is all above board.

If the rotation policy hadn't been scrapped after 2 World Cups, the 2030
World Cup should be played in Oceania and the 2034 World Cup should go
    back to Africa.

Uncle Gianni does what he wants to do so the rotation policy
was 'adapted' to suit the needs of Saudi Arabia wishing to host
the 2034 World Cup tournament... Oceania didn't stand a chance.

Now, it is possible that some oil money flowed in the direction
of the Oceania Football Confederation ... but that is just an
educated guess by the cynics like me. But if that was the case,
then Oceania are probably happy to have been 'skipped'!

I've been looking at the Wikipedia article about the 2034 World Cup to
see what evidence I can find that the cynics are right about corruption
    and things being behind this.

The minimum number of existing stadiums with a capacity of at least
40,000 was reduced from 7 to 4 for no apparent reason. The decision
about who was going to host it was made at least 3 years earlier than it
was originally supposed to be. And FIFA do indeed seem to be using the
fact that matches are being played in South America in 2030 as an excuse
to ignore South America when choosing the host country in 2034.

Should we boycott the World Cup?

I think I need more evidence before I can make an informed decision
myself. If anyone can give me any reliable sources of information about
it to help me decide, please do.
