Botafogo faced an uphill battle since 40 SECONDS into the game. Gregore challenged Fausto Vera with studs a little to high and drew blood from
the Atleticano's head, thus facing the quickest red card of the
    tournament's history.

If he hadn't been stooping, it would only have been about chest height.
A booking for dangerous play, maybe, I didn't think it was worth a
    sending off though.

But even a man down so early, Botafogo didn't need
to burn substitutions to close spaces and defend themselves, while Galo didn't seem to know what to do with this unexpected edge.

Atletico Mineiro dominated possession (I think it was close to 80% over
the whole match), but didn't manage to do much with it in the 1st half.

But then this wouldn't be very much Botafogo-like, would it. One minute
into the second half Vargas headed it in from a corner kick, and for the entirety of the second half it was one way traffic from Atlético, one
    goal away from extra time.

They looked more likely to score in the 2nd half though, and looked the
    better team.

A deserved trophy for Botafogo, who were long overdue to win Copa Libertadores, having been the last Brazilian big club to do it. They
were undoubtedly the best team throughout the tournament, and might
clinch the Brasileirão too on next Wednesday, if results go their way.
    Heady days for them.

A bit of a surprise really considering how much more possession of the
ball Atletico Mineiro had and the early red card.

It all happened so quickly, but yeah it seemed a bit harsh to send him
off. It didnt look like he was trying to kick the guy in the head.

Decent match, with a good atmosphere considering it was in Argentina and
the final was two Brazilian teams.

Indeed. It was recently reformed, they removed the athletics track
around the pitch to make way for more seats. Now, with capacity 84,567,
it is the biggest stadium in South America, ahead of Monumental de Lima (80,093) and Maracanã (73,139).

    Best regards,

Wow! How has the Maracana "shrunk" so much? It used to hold 200,000!

A rule of thumb is that 1 seat is equivalent to 2.5 standing places.

    200 000 / 2.5 = 80 000.
