    What is this?

Flip side of "Do You Know How To Twist" in late 1962.

Oh dear silly me what a mess up !

OK lets replace it with this one from their 1962 debut Capitol album

    The Beach Boys|Heads You Win Tails I Lose|Capitol T1808|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1AMTmVJQbQE

BTW I show the "Do You Know How To Twist"/"Broadway" King single out in
January 1962 it was reviewed in both BB and CB later that month

Sorry about the 2 posts, I did not see the first one after like 10
minutes so I posted again with just the link to the label scan. So it
was early not late 1962, okay.

Here is what I have. Pretty much every track on this album:

    https://cdn.shoplightspeed.com/shops/651411/files/44550532/allan-sherman-my-son-the-folk-singer-vinyl-lp-used.jpg

A1 - The Ballad Of Harry Lewis
A2 - Shake Hands With Your Uncle Max
    A3 - Sir Greenbaum's Madrigal
    A4 - My Zelda
A5 - The Streets Of Miami
    B1 - Sarah Jackman
B2 - Jump Down, Spin Around (Pick A Dress O' Cotton)
    B3 - Seltzer Boy
    B4 - Oh Boy
    B5 - Shticks And Stones

The last track is the best one.

Do You Know What It Means To Miss New Orleans - Fats Domino https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Hxo90urKCM

    Forever - Marvelettes
Came out as a B side single in 1963

Oye Como Va - Tito Puente
Was on a single eventually, but not until like 1969 I think

The Beach Boys track you replaced this with is very weak IMO.

    Bobby Bland|36-22-36|Duke DLP75|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-dt1YB-5Go

Very good one, on my 1962 list.

    Eddie Cochran|Pink-Peg Slacks|UK Liberty LBY1109|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DLNM6fJxC4

Top 5 on my 1962 list.

Nat "King" Cole & George Shearing | Let There Be Love|Capitol W1675|1962
    **
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JwgE9ZwxZc

Did not know it, pretty good jazzy track until the violins came in.

    Bo Diddley|Here 'Tis|Checker LP2982|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEyn-Wrb9ak

Really good one that is surprisingly good by the High Numbers too.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GuoHl9mPKIs

    Fats Domino|Don't Deceive Me|Imperial LP9170|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54G5FaWACW0

    Just a 6 for me.

    The Flamingos|September Song|Vee Jay LP1052|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VGvI_YdroZ8

I have this in 1953 when it was recorded. If an unissued item from years
ago comes out as part of a retrospective album like this, I don't
consider it a contemporary release. Just as I don't put unissued Spiders
songs in the year that they came out on the Bear Family CD, I don't put unissued Flamingos songs in the year that they came out on what is
essentially the complete Chance recordings of the Flamingos and
    Moonglows from 8-9 years prior.

    Jimmy McCracklin|He Knows The Rules|Chess LP1464|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OTbbGt1iJ8

Did not realize it was not a single, but it's certainly real good.

    Willie Nelson|Crazy|Liberty LRP3239|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR-BkmHx3sQ

I don't like it much by Cline, and this is even worse.

    Gene Vincent|Spaceship To Mars|UK Columbia SX1412|1962 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFhTy3jNzmU

I don't think much of his 60s material.

I don't hear that at all. Ver catchy IMO and a really good album

    Bobby Bland|36-22-36|Duke DLP75|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C-dt1YB-5Go

Very good one, on my 1962 list.

This one was also issued on a strange 45rpm that like that Belafonte in
an earlier post I don't consider as a "genuine" single release

    Eddie Cochran|Pink-Peg Slacks|UK Liberty LBY1109|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5DLNM6fJxC4

Top 5 on my 1962 list.

#62 over here and an 8

Nat "King" Cole & George Shearing | Let There Be Love|Capitol W1675|1962
    **
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_JwgE9ZwxZc

Did not know it, pretty good jazzy track until the violins came in.

#233 and a 7. A #10 hit in NME here after Capitol lifted the single from
    the hit album

    Bo Diddley|Here 'Tis|Checker LP2982|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lEyn-Wrb9ak

Really good one that is surprisingly good by the High Numbers too.

    #133 and an 8

    Who? :)

    Fats Domino|Don't Deceive Me|Imperial LP9170|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=54G5FaWACW0

    Just a 6 for me.

    #29 and an 8

I think we both put our different views on this here before

    #86 and an 8

    Jimmy McCracklin|He Knows The Rules|Chess LP1464|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3OTbbGt1iJ8

    #119 and an 8

    Willie Nelson|Crazy|Liberty LRP3239|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JR-BkmHx3sQ

I don't like it much by Cline, and this is even worse.

Great song in both versions with Cline having the edge. The song should
have gone to Brenda Lee tho

    #296 and a 7

    Gene Vincent|Spaceship To Mars|UK Columbia SX1412|1962
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jFhTy3jNzmU

I don't think much of his 60s material.

    So what is your cutoff?

Is "333" by the Drifters in 1971 because it first came out on this album
    then?

    https://www.discogs.com/release/30999682-The-Drifters-Their-Greatest-Recordings-The-Early-Years

If not, why? It's almost the same exact circumstances as "September
    Song," just 9 years later.

No its not *quite* the same circumstances at all since "September Song"
was finally released WITHIN the time parameters of this newsgroup whilst
The Drifters recording was not. And yes of course "Three Thirty Three"
is included in my 1954 favorites list as an "unreleased" item

You know as well as I that there are many of these kind of "anomalies"
on both our lists if we look. For example in my 1963 album tracks post
coming in a few days is a Pat Cupp recording from 1956. But I list it as
1963 and I bet you do too.

We both list Fats' "Little Mama" as 1963 tho it was recorded in 1954 yet
Elvis' "Ain't That Lovin' You Baby" is listed as a 1964 record when it
    dates from 1958.

As the great J.B Lenoir once nearly said "I list um the way I feel"
