• Re: TEN FAVE ALBUM TRACKS FROM....1961

From Bruce@21:1/5 to All on Tue Sep 10 14:44:03 2024
Okay, here is what I have:

Walking Around In Circles - Spiders
"Don't Knock" is better, but this is pretty close.

    Night Train - James Brown
Came out on a single in 1962.

    Kansas City - Brenda Lee
Not on a single until 1968.

    Hey Girl - Smiley Lewis
Nothing But The Blues - Smiley Lewis
"Standing On The Corner" is a bit better than both of these.

Mr. Charles Blues - Ray Charles
Don't think this was a single. From the Atlantic album "The Genius Sings
    The Blues."

This Kind of Love - Roy Orbison
Came out in a couple other countries as a single in 1965.

Hillbilly Music (Country Music Is Here To Stay) - Jerry Lee Lewis
From the Sun album "Jerry Lee's Greatest."

Green Sally, Up - Jessie Pratcher, Mattie Gardner & Mary Gardner
Short song from some album that year.

    #143. Both are 8's

    Night Train - James Brown

I assume you are talking about the "Twist Around" LP here? If so what
source do you have for the 1961 date?

    Kansas City - Brenda Lee
Not on a single until 1968.

    Good version. #244 and a 7

    Both of these 7's
