Granted, Tillotson is not exactly a favorite in these parts, but I

Both "Poetry In Motion" and "Without You" were favorites of mine at the

tho I've heard plenty of much better records since I still regard them
    as okay catchy pop records

I head that about a week ago. I did at least two shows backing up
    Johnny.
He was a really nice guy.

Bruce always makes fun of me because I am sentimental about "Poetry In
Motion." Used to be a good dance record when I was 12. No apologies.

His other hits IIRC were all remakes of country classics like "Talk Back Trembling Lips" and "Send Me The Pillow That You Dream On." My friends
and I used to make fun of those. Did not "get" country music at all
until many years later I heard Hank Williams.

Ford just admitted that it was a favorite of his, and what's WAY worse
is that he also considered "Without You" to be a favorite. That is just
putrid. I give that a 1. That fucking nasally voice, the shitty female

Diane? You'd have to hate it.

And of course the attempted belittling here would fly much better,be
more convincing, less amusing--and would carry much more weight were it
not coming from someone with total shit like "Love Grows (Where My
Rosemary Goes)" on their favorites list

And what's with the "Ford"? I thought we were all on first name terms

Um....let's NOT be silly enough do that since if we follow that stupid
argument to its logical conclusion we have to admit that a HUGE amount
of AWFUL records must really be GREAT----since the general public in
BOTH our countries said so by putting them at #1 in the charts

Okay, it's a 5. I hated the bridge, the talking and the "dum dum dum
dum." If not for that it would be a 6. The rest of the record is
perfectly fine with me. BTW I never heard it before.

Come to think of it, I did buy a Johnny Cash record and a Marty Robbins
record when I was 11, but I didn't think of them as country music. I
thought of "Don't Take Your Guns To Town" and "The Hanging Tree" as folk
or novelty records, I guess, records that told a story.

I'm with Bruce. Though I haven't heard "Without You" since the early
'80s, I hated it then and can't imagine I'd like it any better now. And
no, I did not click the YouTube link.

Í guess many of the differences of opinion here stem from whether or not
we heard records like this regularly AT THE TIME OF RELEASE being played alongside other items from the same period.
