Even if AI-generated music successfully captures the sound of its
intended genre, some people might still have reservations about it for
    various reason:

    1. *Authenticity*: For some, part of the magic of 1950s music is its
cultural and historical contextùthe stories, struggles, and creativity
of the artists who lived through that time. AI-generated music, while
able to mimic the sound, lacks that lived experience and emotional authenticity.

    2. *Emotional Connection*: People often connect with music because of
the human emotions and intent behind it. Knowing a song was created by
an algorithm rather than a person might make it feel less personal or emotionally resonant for some listeners.

    3. *Creativity Concerns*: ThereÆs a perception that AI doesnÆt truly
"create" but rather synthesizes patterns from existing data. This
could make the music feel more like an imitation than an original
piece of art, which might not sit well with people who value human
    ingenuity in art.

    4. *Nostalgia*: A big part of enjoying retro music is the sense of
nostalgia it evokes. For some, this feeling might be diminished if
they know the music is artificial and not from the era it emulates.

    5. *Ethical and Philosophical Questions*: Some might worry about the implications of AI in creative fieldsùwhether it diminishes human
artistry or commercializes art in a way that feels soulless.

put my finger on *why* I feel such revulsion towards it. This explains
it in part. Thank you, Geoff and friend.

    "Well, that's fairly obvious, I admit! :-)

One of the perks of using AI is that it can help add additional ideas
to a topic and express them concisely and in a way that's easy to
read. (but you have to be smart enough to ask the right questions :)

(Of course, one potential downside is that the text, being so
perfectly and tightly crafted, can itself appear 'soulless' or
'robotic' - but, relevant and useful output/content still rules)

A - That can't be the case for Dean at all as he was not yet born by the
    end of 1963, and...

B - Most of what you listen to these days you never even heard of back
then. So there's no nostalgia when you hear "Honey Hush" by Joe Turner
or "Honest by the Gazelles or ANYTHING by Stick McGhee, Smiley Lewis, or
    the Swallows.

This AI R&B Vocal Group record is IMO better than at least half of the
vocal group records that were actually made in the 50s.

I didn't say it explained Dean's feelings. I said it (partially)
explained mine. And the nostalgia in question is for the *era* of my
childhood and adolescence, not for the limited number of songs I heard
    and remembered from back then.

You can post these links till the cows come home but you won't get me to

It's only fake if you can tell it's fake when you hear it.
