Don't remember ever knowing this one. A mixed race and mixed gender
    group on Aladdin from 1959.

They both sound more like 1955 to me.

The Shades - Dear Lori/One Touch Of Heaven - Aladdin 3453

Both sides appear on the 1968 "Sweet & Greasy" r&b vocal group
collection on Imperial from 1968 from which I got my first hearing of
    these songs.

The original issue certainly seems to be Aladdin 3453 which was a
definite April 1959 single release. I've never seen an original copy

Like pretty well every scarce 50's r&b vocal group single it was booted
in the early 70's---but for some reason on a RED Imperial label 45 with
    catalog #5358.

The REAL legitimate Imperial 5358 singles release was in fact a 1955
reissue of Archibald's great earlier "Stack-A-Lee".

Certainly as Bruce rightly says the record sounds more like 1955 than
1959 so was it actually recorded back then or thereabouts?

Which is,I think, where we came in................

That's how I discovered it. I am currently listing boots for sale and
that red Imperial was in there.

Doesn't seem to be an older recording. Here's more that I found out:

Nothing unusual about their story, other that they were from Seattle, 4
guys & one lady. Only one record on Aladdin recorded in 1959. Several
members later were also associated with Ron Holden.

So that's why the Shades sounded familiar to me! I have that album (and
    the one that preceded it).
