The latest ROOTS ROCK RADIO is archived at the link below until January

    with DJ software.)

    Here's the playlist:

This part of my response to Dean's post somehow got lost in sending so
here it is (at least as best as I can remember what I wrote :)

    42. IF YOU CAN’T ROCK ME, Ricky Nelson

Ricky does a pretty good version of The Strikes original. I always
found the Strikes version a little "overdone".Ricky does a pretty good
    job on the number
that featured on his first LP "Ricky" (1957) and was released as an
    Imperial single in 1963

    43. NEW ORLEANS, Gary “U.S.” Bonds

Bonds OWNS this song with his original version---but there was a
competing version on the market from Big Boy Myles on Ace. And a pretty
decent version too--but if Bonds hadn't done it

    46. THE END OF THE WORLD, Skeeter Davis

Always liked this one and pleased to see Skeeter make a breakthrough to
the popular market (big hit here in UK too). I also liked her slightly
later reading of the Carole King song "I Can't Stay Mad At You"
