    I suppose the obvious one to mention here is the 1960 version of the
    tune as "Piltdown Rides Again" by The Piltdown Men

    Not one of my favorite instrumentals but 'twas a #16 hit in UK in early
    1961

    When my boys were kids, we had a cockatiel named Silver, and
    interestingly, he would sing/chirp big time whenever I played the
    overture. I even have a video of it. Of course I do.
