• It's Hernia Time!

From Bruce@21:1/5 to All on Tue Nov 12 05:55:20 2024
I had a hernia repaired today. Diane is here with me for a couple more
days to help out. Much easier recovery than when I had the other side
done 32 years ago. That was done the old way with a huge incision down
there rather than the robotic procedure I had today with just 3 small
slits cut like 6 inches above the hernia.

Got that one when I was carrying around 70 pound speakers and a 40 pound
amp during my club DJ career. Now you can get 6 pound speakers and a one
pound amp that are better than what I had back then. Took 5 weeks before
    I felt normal then.

I am like 9 pounds heavier than when I left the house for the hospital. Apparently a normal problem after abdominal surgery is retaining water
in your soft tissue for a few days, and maybe even several months. Had
nothing like that with the first hernia, but of course I was only 35
    years old then.

So maybe this recovery will end up taking long too. What made this one
need surgery was likely the thousands of reggae records that I carried
out of my friends house and into my house back in the spring and summer.

Apparently I was born with a hernia and had it fixed when I was a
bouncing babe (much too young to recall a thing now)

Good to see you making a speedy recovery hope you back to full fitness
    soon
