Washington D.C. is a federal enclave. The mayor is not the equivalent of

That's not the case in California.
Regardless, the Dem position was that the riot at the Capitol was serious

enough, then
this one certainly is, so calling in the guard would be appropriate and >>>>> if the

And the Jan6 riot wasn't? It literally was contained to one city block. You >>> can't get more localized than that.
As for L.A, don't be ridiculous. Violence has broken out from downtown to >>> Paramount to Compton and all the way up in Duarte.

Um I know you understand the difference between random businesses
being attacked and an attack on the nation's capitol. Of course people
would be calling for as much enforcement as possible to protect the
capitol.
Laughter.
Being escorted around by the police through the building is somehow comparable to burning down businesses, homes and openly violent
rioting....
I wonder what would happen if a bunch of 'undocumented' Americans all
swarmed the Plaza de la Constituci≤n in Mexico City, waving American flags >and setting cars on fire and hurling rocks at the heads of cops. How long
do you think the Mexican government would put up with that before putting >those Americans down hard?

Unless the scenes I saw were from somewhere outside the United States,
what I saw wasn't peaceful at all.
Then you weren't looking very hard. Yes, there were protests that
weren't peaceful, but there were also protests going on with large
numbers of people that were completely peaceful. Though the violence
is what is always going to get covered the most.
