Fringe S2E12 'Johari Window'.
Fox Publicity sez: "Following an unexplained attack involving disfigured humans, the Fringe team visits Edina City, a small town in upstate New
York, to uncover leads surrounding the bizarre case. When it's
determined that these disfigured people have managed to hide themselves
for a while and they'll do just about anything to keep it that way, the investigation takes an unexpected turn."
The glyphs in this episode spell "Mutate".
The title of this episode "Johari Window" refers to a cognitive
psychology tool used primarily in the United States to help individuals better understand their relationship with themselves and others. This epitomizes the plot of the episode perfectly.
[Peter opens the car door but Walter closes it immediately]
Dr. Walter Bishop: No. No. I'm learning to appreciate cowardice. The
lion had a point.
Peter Bishop: The lion?
Dr. Walter Bishop: The Cowardly Lion.
Dr. Walter Bishop: A friend of mine once said that any sufficiently
advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.
What Did You Watch?
I watched:
Murderbot (AppleTV+) "FreeCommerce" and "Eye Contact" - These were the
first two episodes of a new sci-fi series. The series is based on a
book series about a company security droid (Alexander SkarsgÄrd) that
hacks his own safety protocols so he no longer has to obey humans. He
decides to rename himself "Murderbot." He pretty much spends his free
time surfing the internet and streaming cheesy soap operas. He gets
purchased by a small group of hippie scientists to serve as protection
on a new planet they are exploring. They don't want him and he doesn't
want to be there, but the corporate policy requires the colonists to
have security, and he was the cheapest security they could afford. So
far it's off to an OK start and holding my interest.
Love, Death & Robots (Netflix) "400 Boys" and "The Other Large Thing" -
More meh. This is shaping up to be the worst season ever.
Mission Impossible (4K disc) 1996 movie starring Tom Cruise as Ethan
Hunt, a secret agent framed for a crime he didn't commit, who must then
commit the crime he was framed for in order to prove his innocence.
This was mostly background noise, but still enjoyable.
Mission: Impossible 2 (4K disc) Ethan Hunt returns to once again save
the day. This time the mission is only difficult, which should be a
walk in the park for Hunt. More background noise.
