Actors do it all of the time in front of MILLIONS of inspectors (aka
audience members). Teachers are already expected to perform in front of
a room full of students. (Back in the day, they used to have to teach in >front of inspectors on occasion too but I'm not sure if that still
happens). If they're doing their jobs honestly, they have nothing to
fear except perhaps a bit of stage fright.
Years ago >I< was a teacher - and in terms of teaching skills I was
rather good if I don't say so myself. What made me exit was realizing
I was totally hopeless with the clerical skills associated with the
position - I was a first rate tutor but not so hot on the filings and
paperwork associated with the job. So I did the right thing, hung on
to the end of the teaching year and got myself off to grad school in a
joint computer / business program.
Given I met my future wife there (NOT I might add as a student but
definitely on campus) I don't really have anything to complain about -
3 good kids now adults and a 3 year old granddaughter whose birthday
was today but isn't having her party till Saturday since Mom and Dad
are both working.
Point is we all walk through a maze of doors and some make the right
turns the first time, most don't but most of us manage to make things
work out reasonably well.
