CNN Republican commentator Scott Jennings issued an invitation to ôThe
Officeö star John Krasinski during a Wednesday evening broadcast, saying that heÆd been compared to KrasinskiÆs character Jim Halpert and suggesting that they get together and compare notes.

Krasinski, as Halpert, garnered a reputation throughout the popular seriesÆ
run for repeatedly breaking the fourth wall ù blurring the line between the performers and the audience ù by looking straight at the camera when he
reacted to the actions of his costars. Jennings, who often appears on ôCNN NewsNightö with anchor Abby Phillip, has a habit of doing the same.

On WednesdayÆs show, Phillip strayed from the politics of the day and asked
her panel about their dream ôcelebrity encountersö ù and Jennings suggested a confab between himself and Krasinski.

ôItÆs been suggested to me by the internet that I get some inspiration from
Jim Halpert during my CNN appearances,ö Jennings captioned the video clip he shared. ô@johnkrasinski, IÆm very coachable if you want to come on and show
me how itÆs done.ö

Jennings noted that ôThe Officeö was a favorite show of his, and suggested
that perhaps he and Krasinski could get together and ôdiscuss the correct way to look into a camera when something is happening that you think is wild. So anyway, John, if you want to come on someday we can discuss this, ah, letÆs
do it. It would be pretty funny.ö

Throughout his comments, Jennings paused from time to time to give an exaggerated look toward the camera ù each time prompting laughs from around
the table.

ôThis is very good,ö Phillip conceded.

Vice President JD Vance also rated a Jim Halpert comparison during his debate with Governor Tim Walz (D-MN), as he often looked at the camera when reacting to the answers Walz was giving to the moderatorsÆ questions.
