I've just started watching Lockerbie: A Search for Truth. It's a series
about the famous bombing of PanAm 103 over Lockerbie, Scotland in 1988.
This is a subject that has been examined a few times before. This
particular version of the story follows Dr. Jim Swire, the father of one
of the victims, as he tries to uncover aspects of the story that aren't
quite so well known, such as the fact that there were many vacant seats
on the plane because security warnings had been issued to diplomatic
personnel but NOT shared with passengers or crew members.
I've only watched the first of the five one-hour parts but it seems
likely that some might dismiss this as a conspiracy theory. I simply
don't know enough about the event to have an opinion. Swire's concerns
seem reasonable enough to me so far.
It's a British production for Peacock by Carnival, the same people who
brought us Downton Abbey and Day of the Jackal. The only "name" actor
I've seen in it so far is Colin Firth, who plays Dr. Swire.
I'd encourage you to give this a try if it sounds like your cup of tea.
