    Another article behind a paywall....

Could you kindly copy and paste the article here?

afraid not. When I looked earlier I actually
saw the article, but now it paywall's me
    after the headline...

Note that other sources now have this, so if you
    go a searching...
    [globe and Mail]

Trudeau expected to announce exit as party leader before national
    caucus meeting Wednesday

    Robert Fife, Marieke Walsh

No worries! Given that it was late Sunday evening, I was afraid that
Fife had gotten a scoop and no one else was on the story yet but a quick
search after I posted revealed that there was lots of coverage,
    including on YouTube.

It looks like Trudeau's announcement will come at or before his caucus
meeting on Wednesday so it's not one of these things that he'll get
around to sometime down the road.

But of course it is still only a rumour from an unnamed source. I'm NOT
going to hold my breath until I've seen footage of the words coming out
of Trudeau's mouth and have made sure it is not some kind of deep fake.
This asshole has been oblivious to the feelings of people in this
country who want him and his party OUT for *YEARS* now. He actually
seems to be believe that he is indispensable in preserving this country
when he has done more than anyone in our history to destroy it.

Don't count your chickens until they're hatched. He is such a boundless narcissist that I would not put it past him to try to offer some
half-assed apology, promise to do better, and then stay in the
leadership to run in the next election.

In fact, I rather hope he tries that. It will make things that much
sweeter when he and his entire party - and his friends in the NDP - are
utterly crushed at the next election.

Mind you, the Liberals will get creamed in any case. There is apparently
fresh polling where Canadians were asked who they would vote for if
various other Liberals were leader and the results were dismal. The very
best the Liberals could hope for would be 21% if Freeland were the new
leader; Joly would give them 16% and Mark Carney would give them 14%.
That is no kind of winning formula.

    How about this link?

Press conference from Rideau Cottage later this morning should
    settle it.

Nyssa, who wonders how many voters thought they were voting
for Pierre instead of Justin the first time around
