Pop Culture is under assault, but every once in a while we get some
potentially good news, and the return of The Orville seems to be a
cause for celebration among fans of this awesome series! Scott Grimes
flat out stated Season 4 begins production in 2025 and my Hollywood
Spies believe the same...but the fear in every fan's mind is: will
Disney ruin it like they ruined Doctor Who? Or will Seth save the day?
My sources have weighed in on this question, and here's what they had
    to say! #disney #theorville #doctorwho

Yay! I thought it was well and truly dead at this point.

but the fear in every fan's mind is: will Disney ruin it like they
    ruined Doctor Who?

Oh, frak. How come Disney owns it now? Of course they'll destroy it with
DEI like they've done to everything else.

Hopefully they'll at least give it enough of a budget that they'll be
able to continue with the outstanding symphonic scores of the previous
    three seasons.

I'm not taking the renewal as a done deal just yet, although I'd dearly
love to. Grimes said they'd resume production next year but I have yet
to hear an official announcement from Macfarlane or Hulu and that makes
me leery. Maybe Grimes was basing his remarks on a 98% likelihood rather
than a certainty and it will all fall apart on the basis of that 2%
factor that everyone thought could be handled but then couldn't be. For example, if Macfarlane needs more time to get Ted Season 2 ready than
was initially expected and can't find enough time to do The Orville that might make The Orville renewal impossible in any reasonable time frame.

This is where I am - I think there will be a season #4, but it is not
certain yet, and it could definitely still not happen...

but the fear in every fan's mind is: will Disney ruin it like they
    ruined Doctor Who?

Oh, frak. How come Disney owns it now? Of course they'll destroy it with
DEI like they've done to everything else.

The Orville moved from Fox to Hulu after Season 2 when Fox got out of scripted programming. As I understand it, Disney owns Hulu. Season 3 was therefore made under Hulu/Disney's auspices and was still quite watchable.

And, let's face it - MacFarlane was already pushing it towards extreme
DEI/woke crap anyway. It just had enough other good parts to distract
    from that.

I wouldn't count on that being true with season #4 - MacFarlane is
likely to completely lose it (a la "The Boys" season #4), esp. if Trump
    somehow wins...

Hopefully they'll at least give it enough of a budget that they'll be
able to continue with the outstanding symphonic scores of the previous
    three seasons.

Doomcock seemed to think that Seth would refuse to let them ruin his show.

They’re going to make the conductor work from a little tiny television instead of a big screen.

Heh. Well, as long as the music stays the same, they can put one of
those VR headsets on his head and make him look at the music there.
