    Back in the yearly 1980s, maybe '81 or '82, I drive up U.S. 395 through
    that area. I remember seeing that old dinner.

    That building is in a variant of Art Deco known as "Streamline Moderne". It started in the early 1930s, and was popular throughout that entire decade.
    One of the most iconic buildings in that style was the Pan-Pacific Auditorium in LA.
