I'm so disappointed. The most overrated movie of the past year.
    Boring, boring, boring.

From what I'm reading in the reviews critics are raving about it, while
people are rightly hating on it.
What I was hoping for, like the architecture, the overhelming brutalism
with music that matches it - turned out to be just a backdrop. Or even
    backdrop to the backdrop.

    3/10

Adrian Brody plays a Jewish Hungarian architect who escapes Buchenwald,
flees to America, finds things aren’t peachy keen here either, the end. OK, maybe there’s more, maybe the cinematography is superb, maybe it was shot
in Vistavision, maybe it’s an epic motion picture the likes of which we seldom see anymore, maybe the highlight of the movie was that the
soundtrack included Spike Jones, but otherwise I didn’t care. After sitting there for 3 1/2 hours (plus an intermission!) I didn’t care about the characters as people, I didn’t care what they did, I didn’t care whether the masterpiece building would be completed, I didn’t care whether the
    genius would be recognized, I didn’t care, I didn’t care, I didn’t care.

I was reminded of a different story: THE FOUNTAINHEAD ~~ that Ayn Rand
screed I read when I was young and stupider. The Adrian Brody character in
this movie is Howard Roark if Howard Roark were a Hungarian Jewish heroin addict genius architect. Oh Calvin, we could’ve had fun arguing about this one. You left us too soon.
