    Hey,

In the spirit of full disclosure, I am not a member of the Orson Welles'
cult of personality; nor do I think it " or Alfred's Hitchcock's Vertigo,
for that matter " is the “greatest” movie ever made. Having said that, I
am always curious about movies and how they got that way.

The Mank of the title is Herman J Mankiewicz " played by Gary Oldman "
and it's a slice of a moment in the life of a wit, an alcoholic, and the screenwriter who co-wrote Citizen Kane with Orson Welles, although Welles wanted all of the credit, according to the film.

There is very little information about how the script was written or what
decisions went into it. Beautifully shot in black and white and if there was a narrator, someone would swear it's a “film noir.” An interesting
production with good performances that is utter empty. And tedious..

There isn't really anything else to say.

After watching The Lighthouse, I am down for more modern black and white movies, looks so damn interesting.
