Hope and trepidation for "The War Games in Colour".
Hope - that the colourisation is sympathetic and there aren't too many
bright blue floors.
Hope - that the story can fit satisfyingly into 90 minutes (I think 120
might do it, 150 (as two 75s) would be better. 230 minutes down to 90 is drastic cutting - even the worst serials didn't have THAT much padding.
Hope - that any found footage (as advertised) is meaningful. A few
seconds of Pat clowning here and there would be pointless.
Trepidation - that the "new effects" and any visual changes (to the
offered faces, for example) might spoil the charm of the story or seem
out of place.
Trepidation - about the "regeneration scene" from Pat to Jon. Still, at
least that will shut down the "Fugitive Doctor wasn't before Hartnell"
crowd, at least the sane ones.
I wasn't keen on the trailer for "Joy to the World", though. I hope it's better than it looks like it might be.

There is no Fugitive Doctor. Doctor Who ended in 2017! We know for a
fact that there were only 11 Doctors up until Matt Smith. Where were all
the millions and billions of Doctors before Hartnell hiding when the
Church of the Holy Mainframe were looking for them?
I wasn't keen on the trailer for "Joy to the World", though. I hope it's

It looks better than The Church on Ruby Road crap we were given last year.

What's this? A reasonably positive comment about modern Doctor
Who that even includes the word "better"? Has getting one year
older mellowed you AGA?
I hope this positivity can last. I now look forward to your
review of "Joy to the World"... at 2:30 am on Christmas morning.

I won't be on RADW after the broadcast of "Joy to the World" on
Christmas Day at 5:10pm on BBC1, so if there's no early iPlayer
release at midnight I will have to contain my excitement for a
couple of days... by which time I will have both your's and

Wow! There's plenty of excitement over the holidays... "The War

the 24th, "Joy to the World" on the 25th, and RADW reviews of
the new episode to read with my Turkey & Branston Pickle
sandwiches on the 26th/27th. Happy Holidays!

I wrote 230 - Dave thinks he was correcting me and it should be 10x25 (250).
But I was taking into account the fact that 25 minute run times always come
up a little short as the slot they fit in has to include announcements, trailers and might have censor cuts - altogether The War Games was just
over 241 minutes of runtime (the Wikipedia entry for the War Games details that episode by episode).
In addition, there are 9 sets of opening titles, 9 sets of closing titles,
and 9 sections of cliffhanger reprise that can be cut without losing one second of story footage. I guesstimated the full impact of those at 10 minutes, which might be excessive but not by much.

Maybe the BBC are hoping that the gimmicks; colourisation, new
FX, recovered footage and the promised "regeneration scene" will
make the heavy edit to "The War Games" narrative less noticeable?

There is no Fugitive Doctor. Doctor Who ended in 2017! We know
for a fact that there were only 11 Doctors up until Matt
Smith. Where were all the millions and billions of Doctors

I don't have a current Disney+ subscription... I'll wait for the
next offer as they keep pushing the price up! The 2:30 am was
because I assumed the BBC iPlayer was doing its midnight 'thing'
again.
I also forgot that "Joy to the World" is being shown in the
cinema before Christmas, so if you had entered the competition
you could have been popping down to the Odeon to watch the
episode early... I bet you didn't enter though, did you?

I wrote 230 - Dave thinks he was correcting me and it should be 10x25
(250).
But I was taking into account the fact that 25 minute run times always come up a little short as the slot they fit in has to include announcements, trailers and might have censor cuts - altogether The War Games was just
over 241 minutes of runtime (the Wikipedia entry for the War Games details that episode by episode).
In addition, there are 9 sets of opening titles, 9 sets of closing titles, and 9 sections of cliffhanger reprise that can be cut without losing one second of story footage. I guesstimated the full impact of those at 10 minutes, which might be excessive but not by much.

Usually the reprises were reshot versions of the original and sometimes
they didn't even resemble the originals at all so you might actually
lose something if you cut them out. No idea if that applies to The War
Games.

Both are better than the original ending.
Now make one up where the TARDIS explodes and Doctor Who comes to its
final end since Tennant still refers to the Timeless Child monster
therefore both scenes are part of the 12th Doctor's hallucinations.

which is the better ending for twice upon a time?
Both are better than the original ending.
Now make one up where the TARDIS explodes and Doctor Who comes to its
final end since Tennant still refers to the Timeless Child monster
therefore both scenes are part of the 12th Doctor's hallucinations.
It is a good start as the Timeless Child would never be.

If they go around adding woke alternative faces then it wont

There has been no new Doctor Who been made since 2017.
The closest we've had is The Daleks in Colour.
The War Games in Colour doesn't look promising given the
deranged sex peddling far left bigot that is behind it.

There is no Fugitive Doctor. Doctor Who ended in 2017! We know
for a fact that there were only 11 Doctors up until Matt
Smith. Where were all the millions and billions of Doctors
before Hartnell hiding when the Church of the Holy Mainframe
were looking for them?
Change my dear, and it seems not a moment too soon...
I wasn't keen on the trailer for "Joy to the World", though.
I hope it's better than it looks like it might be.
It looks better than The Church on Ruby Road crap we were
given last year.
What's this? A reasonably positive comment about modern Doctor
Who that even includes the word "better"? Has getting one year
older mellowed you AGA?
Doctor Who ended in 2017!
I hope this positivity can last. I now look forward to your
review of "Joy to the World"... at 2:30 am on Christmas morning.

But you will watch it anyway of course, just to confirm your

I see this re-edited version of "The War Games" as an
interesting addition to what we have, nothing more. A Christmas
bonus for us fans. We can take it or leave it.
The real Doctor Who 'event' will be happening two days later.

I assume Mr Pertwee's face is going to be 'inserted' as how else
could they do a 'regeneration' scene? But I see no reason for
any other faces to be inserted... it doesn't mean they won't
though.
Even so, the original episodes will still remain as the
televised 'canon' version of the story.

Then again, back in the day that his KJV was written,
that probably was they way. Believe or die.
Lying Idlehands lies because he supported the murderous
paedophile group Hamas.
Hmm! Can't say I've head major media mentioning that
before, Gobble-de- gook!!
Poor binky, he just can't grasp the concept that one can
oppose the Israeli genocide and not support Hamas. How
Hamas became "paedophiles" is merely a symptom of his ongoing
denial of his true nature.
Sadly without professional help he will never get past his
obsession, or become a contributing member of society.
Lying IDlehands is evil, blackhearted and perverse.
go fight for ISSI and Hezballah Idlehands where you belong.
Ah!! So that was why Gobble-de-gook was suggesting "Go back to
7 October 2023."
Just reading his post, I had no idea what the hell he was on
about, so thank you, Idlehands, for helping me to understand
Gobble-de-gook!!
Is Gobble-de-gook still a member of "Toastmasters" or whatever
the group was called?? I mean, getting out of Mummy's basement,
for whatever reason, would have to do him good, wouldn't it??
Are you that forgetful when Hamas started a current conflict with
Israel?
Sure, Gobble-de-gook, let's go with that ..... and see if YOU,
Gobble- de-gook, can actually ANSWER a question when asked!!
Binky is incapable of answering anything, just mashing his keyboard
while quivering with indignant rage in mummy's basement.
Could it be that he mashes his keyboard in an effort to get the Cats off
of it??
Take note he has never denied anything I said, just posted gibberish
in response.
Noted .... but, then again, he rarely actually answers any question
asked of him either!!

The closest we've had is The Daleks in Colour.
The War Games in Colour doesn't look promising given the
deranged sex peddling far left bigot that is behind it.
But you will watch it anyway of course, just to confirm your
suspicions...
I see this re-edited version of "The War Games" as an
interesting addition to what we have, nothing more. A Christmas
bonus for us fans. We can take it or leave it.
The real Doctor Who 'event' will be happening two days later.

Yes they have bought seats, hence they were giving them away in competitions... so why didn't you get your money's worth from
the BBC and enter? You'd have been able to tell us first hand
how many people were with you... and you'd have been able to
review the Christmas episode here early... an RADW exclusive!
win/win.
Now you have to sit on your own and watch the Christmas episode
on your PC monitor via your tuner card on Christmas Day... with
no popcorn and ice cream. lose/lose
