Silent Key - Noel Clarke EI4IQ
It is with a very sad and heavy heart that we report the death of Noel
Clarke EI4IQ from Maynooth, Co. Kildare on Friday April 25th, 2025. At
the time of compiling the news, funeral details were not yet available.
Born in 1926, Noel's great interest in radio persisted throughout his
life. He will be particularly remembered for his energy, enthusiasm,
and knowledge across a vast array of radio-related and adjacent topics.
He especially enjoyed recounting his experiences and knowledge during
the nightly South Dublin Radio Club 2m SSB nets up to near present day.
Noel connected with many and will now be sadly missed by many. We
extend our deepest sympathies with his family, extended family,
neighbours, and large circle of friends. May his noble soul rest in
peace - ar dheis DΘ go raibh a anam uasal.

Insurance for IRTS members and clubs
We are now in the busier part of the year regarding radio-related
activities outdoors and in public spaces. The IRTS provides public
liability insurance cover for all paid up IRTS members and affiliated
clubs. This valuable benefit is included as part of the IRTS membership
fee.
When preparing for events, you are reminded to include, complete, and
submit a risk assessment as part of your preparations.
To simplify this, you can use a risk assessment and method statement
template that can be downloaded from the IRTS website. Completed
assessments should be sent to the IRTS insurance officer by email.
Further details may be found at www.irts.ie/insurance
If help or clarification is needed, you can also contact the IRTS
insurance officer via email to insurance /at/ irts.ie.
